Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!!

Wow, how did I miss this thread?! Congratualtions, Jaxxie, on getting your husband back! I know exactly how you feel; my husband came home on April 15 "for good", after 7 years overseas. He usually came home 2 or 3 times a year for a week or so, so this has been an adjustment. So I guess I'm a couple of months ahead of you in the adjusting period. I really didn't think it would work out as well as it has, partly because we didn't ever get along all that well! Also, I have also been very independent and used to raising our son in my own way. But I have been quite pleasantly surprised, and my son is soooooo happy to have him home! I really hope it works out as well for you. You can e-mail me if you need someone to listen during the (rare, hopefully!) times you need to scream!

Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!!

Thanks, Mayfly! I think we both changed a lot during the last 7 years, and we have the same goal in life now. We want to give our 8 yr. old son (who has mild autism) the chance to reach his full potential and for him to have the best life possible.

So Jaxxie, how is it going? (I definitely had some "screaming moments" in the beginning!)

Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!!

DH and I have never been screamers...more like debaters...rofl! Things are going well, we did yard work all day today it was so nice to have someone help me! And he was able to finally get my one fountain to sit right, it is a old hand pump that dumps into a bucket and the bucket tips over but the bucket kept sticking..etc. So now it is working properly. But I did have to go to the doc yesterday, I was having horrible chest pains, I thought OMG! I have never ever been an alarmist but when it woke me at 6 am I thought UT OH. The doc checked me out and said she thinks it is stress, I said STRESS are you kidding me! I couldn't be happier..she told me I was confusing stress with depression and stress can also be happy. Go figure. She did an EKG and compared it to one I had 10 years ago, she said they were identical. But she also wants me to have an Echo done. She said if the pains don't subside she wants to see me again, at that time she said she most likely will want to put me on paxil. And of course if the pains get worse go to ER immediately. But I feel pretty good today with only every now and then a twinge. I told him you come home and look what you did, you made me sick!

Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!!

That is true...you have had a lot of excitement, Jaxxie! Hope that it's just a temporary issue. Remember to breathe.

whitequeen-so glad your DH is back and that your little guy is so happy about it.

You are both in my prayers from somebody who went through this a few years ago!

Kristin

Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!!

Wow Whitequeen 7 years!! Where overseas was your hubby? I would imagine your little boy would be thrilled. My little boy just turned 21 years old. lol He is glad to have his dad home, but not thrilled with having to hand the keys back to Dad's newer car, now he has to go back to driving his (sigh) old car! haha!
