Planning a party

A friend is having a birthday on June 24, and we decided to have a theme party of travel. She has done a lot of it and I would like to make placecards for about twelve. I thought of those tags the airlines put on luggage to ship it through and I wonder if anyone knows where I can get some FREE. We plan on looking for brochures, and does anyone have any other ideas?

How about Passport invitations? It would be neat to give out those American Airline wings too. Have an American Tourist contest (i.e., who can be the ugly American--bermuda shorts, Hawaiin shirt, black socks, camera...you get the pciture.)

Re: Planning a party

We can't do contests because it's in our private dining room, but I like the airline wings. Now tell me, where do I get them?

Re: Planning a party

The dollar store usually has luggage tags, another fun idea would be to use maps as place mats and maybe even buy those disposible cameras and place them on the tables tell everyone to play tourist and snap away!

You can try this website - [Only registered and activated users can see links. I've shared this website with all of my friends who have had great success planning both kid and adult parties!

LOVE the tourist idea!! Would be neat if you could get trays for food like they serve on the airlines... and those smaller cans of soda! Have everyone BYOB nip bottles... Maybe you can have a few friends dress up as pilots and stewards/stewardesses!

Re: Planning a party

Thanks for your input and I'm going to look into all of them. Maps should be fairly easy to get at AAA and travel agencies. I thought of postcards for either placecards or invitations, but it's all open right now and my committee of one will help decide.
