Question Have you ever been to a Taste of Home Cooking School?

I've always wanted to go, but the tickets sell out so quickly. I was wondering if it's worth going to. I think you get lots of samples and coupons and recipes and tips and hints. Have you ever been to one?

I'm interested in hearing more about it too!

I did have a recipe of mine printed in their magazine in the 90's... neat thing too, it made it into their annual hardcover cookbook and they sent me a free copy!

Re: Have you ever been to a Taste of Home Cooking School?

I just checked their website and it appears they won't be having any more schools until this fall. The new traveling school schedule will be available in August. I see they also have door prizes in the shows. I can't remember what the school cost, but it must have been around $10 or so. It was reasonable. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to go with DD or a friend one day. Here's the cooking school link:

I used to subscribe to Taste of Home magazine, and each issue is full of neat recipes. My family never ate so great! I know my library carries issues, so I'll be checking some out. I also hear their annual recipe book is great to get because it has like the best recipes of the year.

Kath, that's fantastic that you had a recipe in their magazine and book - what an honor!

I loved my subscriptions too! My mother in law gave it to me. Hmmmm I wonder if she was trying to tell me something? *wink* I got a tip of mine published in it also. Fun magazine.

Re: Have you ever been to a Taste of Home Cooking School?

I have always wanted to go but they never seem to be close to where I live. I love their magazines. I get Taste of Home, Quick Cooking, and Light and Tasty. While my grandma was alive she used to give me Country Living for Christmas every year.

Re: Have you ever been to a Taste of Home Cooking School?

I've had all of the subscriptions, and now I'm just down to the new one 'Cooking for 2' and 'Light & Tasty.' The nearest class has always been more than an hour away, but I'd sure like to go. Their main office isn't too far in Wisconsin, but that would be an all-day trip. Maybe this summer I can persuade a couple of friends to go for the day.
