Shocked Renee Zellweger Weds in Surprise Ceremony
Wow, where did this come from? I didn't know they were even dating!

In the latest surprise star coupling, Oscar®-winning actress RENÉE ZELLWEGER married country western star KENNY CHESNEY today in the Virgin Islands.

The couple wed on sunny St. John Island in a short, 15-minute ceremony, performed by a female preacher in front of a small group of family and friends. The bride wore CAROLINA HERRERA, one of her favorite designers, while the groom was reportedly barefoot. Both laughed and cried during the nuptials.

So how did they meet? The happy twosome hit it off at the Concert of Hope tsunami relief effort on January 15 and maintained a quiet friendship that quickly blossomed. Fans at a concert in Jacksonville, FL, reportedly saw Renée bring Kenny a margarita onstage and then share an onstage kiss with the "When the Sun Goes Down" balladeer. He just performed in Fort Lauderdale, FL, over the weekend.

Her spokesperson had no comment but Renée is a country music fan hailing from Katy, Texas. Prior to marrying Kenny, the 'Bridget Jones' star dated WHITE STRIPES singer JACK WHITE and her 'Me, Myself & Irene' co-star JIM CARREY.

This is the first marriage for both superstars, but the honeymoon will have to wait! Kenny's next concert gig is Thursday night in Little Rock, AR.

I can't see the 2 of them together.

But it probably won't be as weird as seeing Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes together. (Who's your daddy?)

Technically, I don't think you can say they were dating. lol In my people magazine from last Friday (I must have missed the article), it says that they met on April 29th at his concert. He invited her to lunch on May 2nd.

So they've known eachother for . . . less than 3 weeks before getting married???

Sure, sweet. But probably short and sweet. I give them 6 months.

I think Kenny Chesney is the shortest male in country? (Or shortest hot act right now). I think he's like, 5'6". Is Renee tall?

On the news they were saying that Kenny has a song "You had me from Hello" and that was Renee's line in Jerry McGwire - so it was fate. lol

On the news they said they met at some function in January. In my people magazine it says "While in Jacksonville Fla., the actress surprised Chesney by bringing him a margarita onstage at his April 29 concert. Backsage, a giggly Renee told Kenny she'd be in Tennessee, so he invited her to lunch, and on May 2 the two canoodled over a meal at P.F. Chang's near Nashville".

This article came out last Friday - so before the marriage - and didn't say anything about January.

Was it the guy from White Stripes? Ok, I found it....Jack White.

Shanie, I think she's not very tall. She looks 5'4" or 5' 5" at best. That's the same difference between me and Mark (which is nice because I don't have to strain my neck to look at him LOL).
