Big grin My dd was elected to Student Council!!!
My almost 13 yo was elected to be on Student Council. She had to obtain 25 student signatures and 3 teacher's signatures, then she had to write an essay about how she would be an asset to S.C. and why she wanted to join. Then, they reviewed the applications and picked the Council. Liz was elected!!!! She also made honor role again, and was elected to compete in a math competition at another school!!!! I have to say I am soooooo proud of her. She would rather spend her time at a church youth group than at the mall, and she asked me for these Worship cd's she saw advertised on tv this morning. I am truly blessed! This is the dd that had soooo much trouble with the little "tartlets" at her previous school. She has tons of friends now and is doing this well. God really pointed us in the right direction when He helped us find this house 2 years ago.

Congrats!!! I know you must be very proud. It is nice when our children take on things like this because it teaches them to be responsible and will provide a lifelong skill. What a great girl!!!

That's awesome!

I'll bet you're so proud of her. It sounds like she really has her head on straight. My half-sister is very much like that. She spends a lot of time with her youth group, and doesn't worry about which thong to wear with which butt-crack showing jeans, lol.

That's wonderful and you deserve to be proud of her. My DD is also in student council this year. Our schools' application process is similar, except that the student body holds an election, so the kids are required to give a speech in front of the whole school. DD didn't let 2 previous losses deter her from running yet a 3rd time, so it was nice that she finally won.
