Rolling eyes Is your dog a thief?

I swear if it isn't nailed down, my dog (Patch) will steal it!

I was expecting a package from The Children's Place one day, but wouldn't be home most the afternoon. After we got home I was in my son's room and saw a box out by my dog's fenced-in area. Sure enough, it was the package I was waiting for! It was jeans for pity sake, not a rump roast!

(Patch is able to go under the fence in a few areas.)

Then another day I was unloading the groceries from the back of my van. I saw Patch run past the garage door. I went to see what he was up to, and sure enough he had a bag of my groceries!

We're finally working on our landscaping and I bought a really cute snail statue for the rock garden, but I have a feeling he's going to go missing soon!

The dang dog, he'll steal anything! Even if it's not edible.

Re: Is your dog a thief?

We had a dog when I was little whose name was Spooker. He was a great dane. He would steal anything that the neighbors left outside or on their porches. We would take everything that he stole and put it out on our porch so that the neighbors could come by and claim it later. My father tried giving him away once, but he managed to find his way back home. LOL.

Our dog doesn't do it, but one of the cats does. If he can lug it around, he will and good luck finding it later!

Re: Is your dog a thief?

My dog only does that with edible things-lol. Unless its pickles, that is the only food item we have found that she won't eat. That dratted dog will betray me for a french fry. But then again she is soooo sweet, and I am glad to have her.

When our female dog was alive we'd always find shoes or whatnot from the neighbor's house. When our new neighbors moved in nextdoor, the day they were moving in our dogs went over there and stole the lady's shoes! I don't know which dog did it, but I was so embarrassed! A nice welcome to the neighborhood. lol

Lately it's only been stuff from our yard/garage that my dog has been stealing thankfully.
