Have you ever been pulled over by a cop or gotten a ticket?

So far I haven't. Oh I hope, I hope I don't come back here and say "why did I start this topic because I got pulled over!" LOL My husband has though. I don't do well in situations like that- I am afraid I would CRY!!!! How embarrassing is that! The cops out here are super strict. Our neighbor got pulled over for doing 2 over the speed limit!!!!!! Luckily the judge threw it out. sheesh.

I don't know how many times I have gotten stopped/pulled over...I have had *only* one ticket tho...that was over 4 or 5 years ago. Speeding...which there is no way I was...I had my youngest son with me at the time, but...well..it was the start of a holiday weekend...I was actually VERY upset over that...first ticket AND I know I wasn't in the wrong. The way I see it tho, I have been given enuf "warnings" to make up for it..LOL! BTW...I have never cried, BUT I don't pretend that I am "innocent".

Yep. I have gotten a couple of speeding tickets. I always do the defensive driving thing and the ticket goes away after completion. It takes about six hours to complete the course. I have done it using a BlockBuster video. The good thing is that the DD gets me a break on insurance. It's is almost worth a ticket every five years or so.

I got my one and ONLY speeding ticket back in 1997....I was caught doing 72 mph in a 55 mph zone After that ticket I RAN to the nearest electronics store and bought my self a radar detector and it has kept me in line and staying within the speed limit

Who me? drive fast..just cause my mom wears a crash helmet and holds the dash doesn't mean I drive fast. Or does it? My GF got a speeding ticket and she said what made her so mad about the whole thing is when the cop handed her the ticket she said Thank you out of habit. HAHAHAHA!

HEEEEEEEEEY...that's what the trooper said he clocked me doing!!!!!!!
NO way seeing how I had just backed out of a neighbors drive (Codey was in his car seat and wanted a WWJD bracelet put on his ANKLE..lol). Later hubby and I went for a little drive, just to see if I could make it to 72 byt the time we reached the top of the "hill"...I COULD, but only if I floored it. Oh well...water under the bridge

Only once when the police had set up a speed trap behind a school. They were pulling almost everone over. I was doing 35 which would have been the speed limit but because it was a school zone it was 25. It was before school had started and I doubt if many people were even there yet. Now I always slow down to 25 unless its a weekend or after 5:00pm.

I've had 2 speeding tickets.

And I did get out of one once by crying. haha I think I posted about that here (would have been about 4 years ago!) Bronson was a baby at the time in the backseat crying, I was crying, giving my sob story about Bronson being up all night and I was late for work. Guess he had a soft spot for blubbering mothers. I felt like an idiot, but it already was one of those days.

The other 2 were in 30 mph zones. It must be a malfunction in the vehicles I own - they just can't go 30.

Oh, I got a ticket for failing to yeild right-of-way resulting in an accident. I was laying in the back of the ambulance when the cop informed me I'd be getting a ticket - thank you very much. (And honestly - the woman had her blinker on, but she was turning at the turn after the one I was waiting at - so I pulled out thinking she was turning there, but *SURPRISE* she didn't.) I was okay, just got knocked out.

And last but not least, I got pulled over once for not having current tabs on my car. I had bought them, but they were sitting on my husband's desk and never were put on. The cop was a real jerk and was threatening to tow my car and all this crud. He was a big man threatening a pregnant lady. I think it bothered him that I wasn't trembling under his power. *eyeroll* He ended up letting me go because he made a call and found out the license plates were up-to-date.

I got a warning once for doing 50 in a 35. I told him I was lost (I was) and it was 2 a.m. and I was just trying to go home. Thing is...I hadn't technically "asked" my parents if I could use the car! So yeah, I was relieved I didn't get a ticket!

Never nope not yet. I am not saying I shouldn't have. I tend to go a little fast.
My mom didn't get one till she was 65. Clocked her going 78 in a 65. Can you say go granny go.

I've been pulled over many, many, many times - never a ticket. Of course, they probably know not to write me because who are they going to be calling when they need backup?

When my husband was running for sheriff of our former county I got pulled over. They didn't know who I was. The police officer had just "spotted" me at the local gas station and pulled me over to ask me to "lunch". Talk about a big mistake. The minute I saw the blue lights I called my DH at his Pentagon office, knowing I wasn't speeding, etc. DH put the call on speaker phone. It was pretty funny. Needless to say, someone lost their job that day. I wonder how many women just get pulled over for no reason. DH used the incident in his next radio ad. He still lost, but we exposed a lot of wrong in the county.

yeah i have had a couple tickets. i think everyone will eventually get pulled over once whether they get a ticket or not if they drive long enough.

I've gotten 1 ticket for speeding. I was pregnant with my first baby and the cop still gave me a ticket! I've been pulled over twice. Once was a license check, so that wasn't a big deal. The second time was a few weeks ago. I was in a construction zone, doing the speed limit when this cop pulled behind me. He put on his lights and I pulled over. I knew I wasn't speeding, so I had no idea what he wanted. Anyway, on his way to my car he was looking at the back of our van, like he was looking for a reason to have pulled me over. He gets to the window and tells me he couldn't tell if my tag was expired or not because the sticker was worn!! Anyway, he gave me a warning and told me to get a new one.

On the way home and around town after that I was looking at other people's cars. You can't see that sticker unless you are within 10-20 ft. of the car. So there is no way he saw my sticker from the median.
