Anyone know about kinetic energy?
My thrid grader had to do a science project. His project was a balloon hovercraft. We had no problem making it and getting it to work. The problem we are having is he has to explain how kinetic energy makes it work. I looked up kinetic energy and it says it is the energy of motion. So is the air coming out the bottom and making the hovercraft move the kinetic energy? I don't want to help him get it wrong.

I would think the air is the potential energy (energy stored in an object)..the moving of the hovercraft is the kinetic energy (energy of motion).

Oh no babe...you and Andrew had it right on...I just FOUND a few more examples. Actually..I learned a little myself..lol I wish they would give example like that in TEXT books...sure would have seemed a bit more interesting when I was in school...LOL!
