I had a poor furbaby stuck UNDER my floor last night!

I was taking a nap and woke up to the sound of a cat crying. Since I have four boys, I was worried something was wrong. I went out to see what was going on and Andy said it was just the upstairs neighbors Tom cat out on the roof again. I went to the bathroom and came in here to get on the PC and realized it was louder in here. Then I saw two of my boys, Leo and Zeus, crouching and sniffing over the heat vent, I pulled the cover off and could hear and talk to the cat but not get to it from up here.

Off to the basement I went, I took our dog, Shasta with me, I told her to go find the kitty for me. She took me right to the section of wall where the kitty was stuck. I guess she had gotten outside, then got scared and somehow she slipped under the foundation where an outside window is, problem is that section of basement is boarded off. She got into this tiny little crevice and got stuck. I had to pull several boards off before I located the right spot. As soon as I pulled her out, she just clung to me and started purring.

It was the upstairs neighbors other cat, a kitten only about 6 months old. I took her upstairs and gave her some food, then went and pounded on their door, it was almost 11pm, but I pounded until they woke up. She came down and said she was asleep, so I just asked her if she would like at least one of her cats back?? Her boyfriends brother came down and got her.

I felt so bad for the poor little thing. She was all dirty and miserable. They said she had been gone about two days. I can't believe they weren't looking for her, that poor baby! I am just so glad I was able to find her and get her out, safely.

ohhhh I am so glad you got the kitty out safely...That is to bad the people were not more concerned. The poor kitty will probally be right back out loose again in no time some people just do not care...

At least you were able to get to the kitty before it was to late, I saw on animal planet one day where they had to cut a wall away to get to a lost kitten and it was not even the guys cat whose wall they were cutting but the man was so nice and said he did not care so long as they got the cat out safe It was so sweet... And so are you for saving the cat, maybe you should of just kept the kitten

Re: I had a poor furbaby stuck UNDER my floor last night!

You should have seen me, I was covered with dirt and cobwebs, ugh. All that for a cat that isn't mine. Trust me, if something like this happens again, she won't be returning to that apartment.

I am just glad she was hollering where I could hear her, if she was in the regular rooms of the basement, you can't hear anything and we almost never go down there because it is damp and dirty.

I love kitties and it just breaks my heart when one is in distress.

Their tomcat keeps getting out on the roof outside my kitchen windows, he won't come to me so I can help him down, so I just throw food out to him! Oh, and he is spraying which smells just wonderful when the wind blows into my kitchen!!!!!

I saw that episode you were talking about, I thought it was awesome that he let them do that to save the cat.

Re: I had a poor furbaby stuck UNDER my floor last night!

We had that happen too. Our little kitten went missing, and we are calling and calling. Pretty soon we hear these frantic meows. The cat went into the back of the fridge! We had to pull it out and extricate him.

So glad you were there to help...too bad they don't show more concern for their pets.

Re: I had a poor furbaby stuck UNDER my floor last night!

Tell me about it. Their tomcat was stuck on my roof the other night, he is afraid to jump down when he gets out their window. The other night he finally wanted in and I had to squirm myself half out the window to grab him. Then the window slammed shut on my hand so I had to call Andy to help.

I have a cat in one hand and the other hand pinned under a metal storm window. I was not happy at all!!

All I can say is this stuff had better END SOON!
