New food guide pyramids

Well they are interesting, but since they are customized I don't think you can put them on cereal boxes and whatnot; however, I do like the fact that they are customized.

If you put in your information, you get detailed recommendations.

Mine is:
Grains 10 ounces
Vegetables 3.5 cups
Fruit 2.5 cups
Milk 3 cups
Meat and Beans 7 ounces

I know I don't eat that much; I wish they wouldn't list ounces of grains -- I have no idea how many ounces a bowl of cereal is. But still lots of intersting information on that site.

I like it. Seems a lot more realistic than the old pyramid. I do find it interesting that they list brown rice as a dark green vegetable. Not sure how they came up with that one.

Re: New food guide pyramids

Thanks for the link. I saw that on the news but it looked a bit confusing.
