Weight loss

Who here is trying to lose weight? What diet/exercise plan are you doing?

I got on the scale at school and I am 166lbs. I'm the heaviest I've been in my life. I'm aiming for 130 even though I would like to be a little lower than that. I was trying on clothing at the store tonight and saw myself in the mirror and I look pregnant lol. (I'm not just for the record.) I'm starting tomorrow by cutting back on junk food and eating more foods that are raw or not processed.

Re: Weight loss

I started back in August and have lost 33 pounds so far. Normally I would think I had to lose tons of weight in a short period of time, and that never worked! I'm taking it slow this time and am being much more successful. No exercise yet, but I'll probably start free weights soon.

I cut out almost all of the junk I was eating on a daily basis (I've only had 2 donuts since August, down from at least one a day!) and try to keep everything low-fat or fat free. I don't worry about carbs at all, just fat. Occasionally I will eat something that I probably shouldn't, but as long as the weight keeps coming off, I don't care. If I deprive myself, I will fail. Still got about 20-30 pounds to go.

Re: Weight loss

I am starting Weight Watchers tomorrow. I used to do Jazzercise, but I couldn't afford it anymore. I am hoping to start back when I get a job. I really need to lose weight...not just for looks, but for my health.

Re: Weight loss

I've been doing Weight Watchers for the past 12 weeks and I've lost 24 lbs Before that I had Lap Band surgery on 1/9/04 and was following a low sugar diet. If it had more then 5 grams of sugar in it...I wouldn't touch it! I still follow my sugar rule I also still make sure to eat at least 60 grams of protein a day and eat iron rich foods too. And the most important thing....EXERCISE I go to the gym 3 - 4 days a week...do an hour of cardio exercise and 20 minutes of weight training I'm not going to lie...it hasn't been easy...but it's been so worth it! I feel like I'm in my 20's again I can do things now that 15 months ago I was only dreaming about doing.

Re: Weight loss

I'm trying to lose 10 pounds to get down to 165. I usually do a few miles on a treadmill 3 or 4 times a week and then weights every other day, but its pretty hard sometimes to drag myself over to the gym. I tried to cut my calories a bit, but I was getting too hungry. Instead I just try and eat healthier foods.

Re: Weight loss

I've lost 22 lbs since January by counting calories and trying to pay attention to serving sizes and portions. I don't cut out sweets (LOVE ice cream), just try to cut back.

Re: Weight loss

I have lost 75 pounds since last June. It started with a accident and I didn't eat much then. I kept it up by cutting my calories way down. I eat a healthy all around diet. Protein, good carbs, and veggies and some fruit. I also exercise alot. I have a gazelle and I use it every day. Plus lots of dvd exercise ones. I average 1 1/2 hours of exercise 5 times a week and 45 minutes the other 2. I am now in a size 3. I feel great and have 10 x the energy.

Re: Weight loss

Thank You all. I never want to get it back either that is why I workout so much. You all are doing great also. My niece had gastric bypass surgery a year ago. Best thing ever for her.
