Hotel age limits?!?

I've been reseraching hotels to stay at in Chicago/Ohare from June 25 - 28 and many of the hotels I've searched, when I visit their information page, I find tucked away "Must be 21 or older." Of course they never advertise this. But I can't figure out if this is for all hotels in that chain, just the specific property, etc. Now I'm worried I'll book somewhere and they'll say sorry 21 only. Isn't there a law against this? I swear I remember reading something about this. Of course all the BUDGET hotels near Ohare (LaQuinta Inn and Super are like this. I certainly won't stay with them in the future - agism isn't cool in my book.

Re: Hotel age limits?!?

I had the same thing happen to me a few years back...I don't know if it's illegal or not. I'm guessing not, because private businesses can pretty much make up their own rules. I think rental cars work the same way. I would call the hotel where you want to stay, explain the situation and see what they say. Are you staying by family or friends in the area? Maybe one of them could put it on their card and get you checked in? That's how I had to do it.
