I also liked the Jackson 5, Partridge Family, Monkees, CCR, and a little later in my teens, my all time favorite still is ELO. |

| Re: What was your favorite music growing up? I have evolved to appreciate all different kinds of music over the years, but growing up in middle school and high school, I mainly liked hard rock and some country. AC/DC, Priest, Ozzy, Hank, Jr. Some Johnny Cash (although only later I got to know his better stuff). Willie was the mellowest thing I listened to back then. Part of it was the crowd I ran with, I conformed to them too much. I never abondoned AC/DC, but I did go through a phase of being embarassed about Ozzy. When he made his comeback in the early 90s I wouldn't even consider the stuff. I was really branching out to different music then, and felt I had gone beyond that stuff. In fact, at that same time Metallica was getting big and I didn't even give it a chance. Now, I have re-discovered some of my hard rock roots. Ozzy had awesome guitarists, and some of his early 90s stuff is great. Metallica are legitimately good musicians.

| Re: What was your favorite music growing up? Awwwww....well my all time fave from then is STILL my all time fave today Duh, AC/DC...was there any doubt?!?! LOL!My parents ALWAYS had country on...I mean like almost 24/7 so without really MEANING to I came to "appreciate" country also Esp. Kenny Rogers...lol...shhhhh, I just SO loved "She Believes in Me" and "Lady" ( and still do )...ok..I also thought he was handsome, now SHUDDUP!Ok...back then..I guess it was pretty much all of the big hair bands and what was considered "heavy" (of course there are some songs I just liked more than others, so they may be why they're on my list)...Metallica, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Cinderella, Billy Idol (mom was constantly calling him Billy JOEL,..BIG difference mom!..LOL!), Bon Jovi, Guns-n-Roses, Poison, WhiteSnake, Madonna, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Kiss, Jim Croce, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Heart, Pat Benatar, Ozzy, Cindy Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, Reo Speedwagon, Bryan Adams, Pink Floyd, Twisted Sister (pretty much just the "We're Not Gonna Take it" song)....oh heck...my brain is becoming MUSH! LOL! Add some/most "mid to late 80's era", "one hit wonders" and "break-up songs" and that probably covers it...LOL! What's sad is we didn't even get MTV (Cable) during my impressionable years..LOL! For a LONG time I couldn't tell ya who sang what...heck, I'm probably still learning...LOL!

| Re: What was your favorite music growing up? I always liked the Beatles and Dylan since childhood. When I was 10 I got into disco during the whole Saturday Night Fever phase. I also remember Donna Summer Last Dance. When I was 11 A friend told me about Cheaptrick. I blindly bought Live At Budokan without ever hearing it. I liked it then and I still like it now. I got into what was called New Wave. Blondie was one of my first favorites and I sang Dreaming to my 6th grade class in 1980. I then mellowed out and listened to the top 40 of the time like Reo Speedwagon, Journey, and yes even Air Supply. I am horrified to remember hanging out with a friend three years older than me and singing Here I Am The One That You Love full throttle on Summer nights in 1981. I am not embarassed about Kim Karnes Bette Davis Eyes which is still one of my favorites. With the start of MTV I came back to the New Wave. Men At Work, Devo, Dexys Midnight Runners, Flock Of Seagulls. Then I finally got into the hair metal which I used to be afraid of. Def Leppard Pyromania was my introduction. I liked Ratt, Twisted Sister, and then was introduced to the harder metal by a guy named Howie. We listened to Metallica, Megadeath ect before most people heard of them. But then I started growing out of that and just got into everything. I really dug U2 and startedto get back into the "New Wave". Also in 1985 classic rock radio became big and I started listening intently to the Allmans, The Eagles, The Kinks, The Who ect All the old bands that the classic rock radio would play. I heard a few songs by a band called REM and they started to spark an interest which would grow and blossom just a few years later. I started watching a show on MTV called 120 minutes and really got into alternative. My interest in metal started to decline. I was listening to both alternative and classic rock. I wondered why rock stations would'nt play these cool new bands instead of the same old stuff from the 70's. REM came out with Lifes Rich Pageant and I totally crossed over to REM fandom status. I started listening to other bands who sounded like REM like Guadacanal Diary and the Miracle Legion. I also got into the paisley spychadellic revival with bands like the Three O Clock and the Rain Parade. From the late 80's on I was pretty firmly entrenched in the alternative. When I ended up in Phoenix through my job at the time I discovered country. I never liked Country before but sitting in the desert metropolis of Phoenix Az it felt right. My first favorite country songs were Clint Black Killin Time which was played at an old Country club called Denim and Diamonds on Thomas RD, and also Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks. I started watching CMT. In time I discovered the more older country classic like Cash and George Jones. I had the pleasure of seeing Johnny Cash in 1996. I eventually fell for the first wave of grunge bands but with the exception of Nirvana and the Breeders I realized they were all crap and stopped listening to them. I've stayed current with Indy-alternative stuff that has psychadellic-folky-garage elements. I still listen to "classic " rock and somewhere along the way found jazz. |

| Re: What was your favorite music growing up? Bobby Sherman sang a song called Julie. Julie, Do You Love Me. I have a soft spot for 60's-70's pop due to working at an AM station and also a friend named Rich who is into that stuff. |
