Re: CAN YOU JUST BRING DINNER HOME

I love to cook and experiment with new recipes frequently, but when you cook day after day after day....arrgghh! When we go to our vacation house, it's not really a vacation for me because I still have to cook!

Sometimes I tell my DH on the weekend, "I don't care what we're having for dinner tonight, as long as I don't have to cook it." He's pretty good about roasting a chicken or putting a pork tenderloin on the BBQ on Sunday nights, makes breakfast one day on the weekend, and he makes a killer pesto, so I really can't complain too much.

Re: CAN YOU JUST BRING DINNER HOME

Well, those new crockpot dinners have so many calories. I think one was 700 calories per serving and over 500 in fat!!!, I guess convenience comes with a price. I think my grandmother was right, pinto beans are easy, fast and really tasty. Guess what is for dinner tonight? Plus, the leftovers can become something else. Easter dinner is up for grabs. I mentioned Turkey to DH and he snurled his nose up. Guess we have had one to many turkeys this year. I mentioned pork loin, same expression. I mentioned seafood, same expression. Then I just mentioned that perhaps we would just fast, for Easter. Well, got lots of ideas after that. Too funny.

WOW! I looked at those the other day in the store. I didn't buy any....good thing because if DH or I read the "nutrition" label we would have passed on that particular supper. That's a whole bunch of calories and fat!
