What do you do with old clothing and other items you don't want?

I usually give my stuff to charity. It kind of goes in spurts. I will clean my house and end up with garbage bags full of stuff that I can't wait to get out of my house. Sometimes I pass clothing on to friends who have kids younger than mine.

Yep, that's exactly what I do. It drives me nuts when I see people throw out stuff that could be put to good use by someone needy! I also have signed up at freecycle.org so I have gotten rid of a few things that way. I'd rather donate things to also get the tax write-off tho.

If I do not have someone to pass it on to then I will drop it at the Salvation army...Usually though we know someone who can use the clothes that no longer fit our children.

Most of the time we give them to Goodwill, unless of course we are having a Garage Sale (which we only do every other year or so.)

We do the same thing. We get rid of some at yard sales and most goes to Goodwill. I can't believe how much we get rid of in a year.

So far garage sales, or pass along to friends (like the baby stuff). My sister-in-law is having a big garage sale again this year. Whatever doesn't go is going to charity. I'm tired of clutter and a closet full of things I'll never wear again.

As far as the kids clothing goes, we have a couple of friends with SIX boys (his, hers, theirs..lol)..I can't even tell you how many bags of clothing we have passed on. I'm sitting on quite a lot now because I just feel terrible making them find more room to store them...LOL!
All of the other stuff goes to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Probably once a month I will fill a few garbage sacks with clothes, toys, and stuffed animals. Then I will tell everyone whoever calls next (DAV, Childrens Hospital, etc..) tell them yes we have something. I get a couple of calls a month so I know it will not sit around for long. Funny thing is no matter how much I give away my house is still cluttered. LOL

I usually call the Salvation Army or give clothes to friends. Last year my DD had a classmate whose home had a mold problem and they had to move out and leave everything behind! I was happy to be able to help out by donating my DS' outgrown clothes to their son.

Well in the past 14 months I have downsized from a size 28W to my new svelt size of 14 and I've been passing my clothes on to my sister-in-law who had the same surgery as me, but only 8 months later.

Donate to ARC, or if good enough, I take them to a consignment shop.

Everything goes to the Goodwill because it's close and I load it in the car. When I moved I gave a lot of furniture to any organization that would pick it up because I couldn't haul it. Now I have a lot more to haul away.

yup kids hand me downs go to my neice and the big people stuff go to good will its a shame though around here the workers pick through all the good stuff and then take it home. Then they sell the rest, they should GIVE it to the needy.

If I know someone at work who could use things, I will offer it to them. Otherwise I have hubby drop it off at the local Salvation Army.

I give them to charity or if really nice I do e-bay. I have alot to get gone as I went down alot in size. My son outgrows everything and most of his gets given to charity. He is such a big guy that I know they are so needed.
