Exclamation Robert Blake acquitted of murder
Robert Blake, a former child star who later became known for his tough-guy roles, was found not guilty today of murder in the 2001 shooting death of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley.

In addition to murder, Blake, 71, was acquitted of one count of solicitation to commit murder but the Los Angeles Superior Court jury said it was deadlocked 11-1 on a second solicitation count, which the judge then dismissed. The jury deliberated eight days before reaching its decision.

I only heard that he allegedly shot her in their car, after dinner at a restaurant. He was also charged with solicitation of murder, supposedly trying to get two former stunt men to kill her, which they said they declined to do.

Ok, I read the story. The only thing I find suspicious is that he said he had to go back into the restaurant to get his gun that he left in the booth. How could you leave or drop your gun in a restaurant booth? thats what holsters are for? That is a little hard for me to understand.

Yah. That's his alibi. He couldn't have shot her, because she was shot while he went back to the restaurant to get his gun.

OMG, Shainie, that's exactly what I said to my dh tonight. Notice how O.J. and Blake both got off. And then there was Kolby Bryant--and I personally don't think he was so innocent. Told DH that it seems like if you are famous that you can just get by with whatever. Anxious to see how the Michael Jackson case comes out--he's famous and has lots of money!!!!!!!

I don't think OJ and Blake should be compared. There was a huge amount of DNA evidence against OJ and none against Blake. There is no doubt in my mind that OJ killed Nicole and Ron, but I'm not convinced that Blake killed his wife.

Robert Blake didn't get off. The prosecution failed to prove he was guilty of murdering his wife. After reading what the jury said it seems like they made the right decision.
