Shocked Computer Screen Cleaner Mishap
Well do I feel like an idiot. I bought some of that computer screen cleaner (2 cans for price of 1) in the can to clean my laptop screen. Well, with most can sprays you shake them first so there I am shaking the can like crazy and it started to get really cold. I figured it was supposed to. I used it and then put it back in the cabinet when I finished. I went back into the living room to watch the news and all of a sudden heard a loud bang. Well, DH and I ran into the kitchen and the can had "blown up". After the cleanup we looked at the other can as we were going to throw it away. Well, it had instructions on the back "Never Shake or tilt can before or during usage." among other "Nevers". I think I am going to write the company and see if they can put the warning on the front of the can so it will be more easy to spot. Didn't do any damage except to the can, lucky it wasn't worse. Scared mother in law out of her wits though.

So from now on when mother in law misbehaves say nothing, just point at the can then point at her. Was it canned air you were shaking?

I think it must have been canned air but not really sure. Didn't look at the ingredients. Really loud when it went off though. Glad it wasn't in my hand!!!

NO DOUBT! You were lucky! We were thinking about using compressed air to blow out our camera, after it was suggested to us at a camera store. eek, DON'T do it. I read an article that day in a camera magazine that compressed air has propellants and stuff added to it that will stick inside your camera.

Oh man! I always shake the canned air, not for long, just to 'mix things up'. I didn't even think about it exploding. Thanks for the warning!

You are so lucky that you weren't holding the can. Wow, I never knew that would happen. I think you should write the company and request the warning be placed on the front in big, bold print. Yikes! I always shake the can too. Out of habit I suppose.
