Just heard Christmas music on the radio!

I've had the radio on all afternoon. Been in and out of the room several times. I thought I heard a Christmas song about 2 hours, but just caught the tail end. Thought I was just hearing things...but I did just hear another song while I'm on the computer. Dpn't get me wrong, I love the songs of the season, but at least wait until after Thanksgiving. Has anyone else heard holiday music on the radio??

There is a radio station here in the Wash. DC area that plays Xmas music starting on Thanksgiving and going until Xmas. Well, I was listening today and it has started ALREADY!! I kept flipping around the radio and every time I was on the station they were playing a Xmas song.

For people like myself who are not Christian, it is a long enough season as it is....I can't believe the music is starting up non-stop already...and on one of my normally favorite stations too!!

We have a radio station here that plays all Christmas music after Thanksgiving, and they started already too! Pretty soon we'll be celebrating Christmas all year round.

They started in central jersey about a week ago. Couldn't believe it. But I love Chirstmas, and all that goes with it. I hate hearing it in stores though. I feel they're just using it to get you to spend more money.

This reminds me of a conversation heard this past week on the local talk radio station about whether or not it is all right to mix Thanksgiving with Christmas. Calls were heard on the issue, and the majority seemed to prefer to keep the 2 holidays separate.

Tell that to the retailers. You won't be heard. Already in our little town, the big Christmas tree is up in front of city hall, Christmass trees are for sale, trimmings and trappings of Christmas dot the city. Tacky, tacky, tacky, I say. (Ahem. Just ignore those Poinsettas that are already sitting out in our front bed...they are pretty though).

It's getting way out of hand starting earlier every year. Adults don't like it, and the kids just find more things they want. Of course, that's what the retailers want. It really turns me off!

I read in the newspaper that, unfortunately, retailers have found that when they put the holiday decorations up/play Christmas songs before Thanksgiving, it makes for a longer "holiday shopping season" and results in increased sales.

I don't like it at all, but apparently some people do, because last night when I was driving home, I saw 2 homes with Christmas lights already!
