How do I post a photo on DOD in a forum?

I know someone told me how to do this once, but I have lost the info on how to do it. Thanx in advance

There are two ways to attach a photo - either by having it hosted on a website or by attaching it directly to your message.

If you want to attach it to your message (this is best for smaller photos & only works if the photo has one of the following extensions: bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zip), do the following:

• Go to Advanced Posting
• Enter your text into the text box
• Scroll down three items below to Manage Attachments
• Click on Browse and Add File

If your image is larger or isn't in the approved file types, then you'll have to host your picture somewhere on the web. You can also do this for smaller loading pictures - they won't come up as the thumbnail in the message - it will come up as full size. To do this, you'll need to first find a host ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] is free & reliable) and then you'll use the following code to post your photo in your message:
[ img]URL[ /img]
WITHOUT the spaces after the [ and replacing URL with the URL for your photo (the url will be something like www.imagehost.com/myimage.jpg)
