I hate to fill the gas tank!

Why are the gas prices climbing like this? I shudder when I fill up the van and I have heard that it may hit $3.00 a gallon this summer. If it does go this high, it may change some of our mini vacations that we had planned.

Doesn't bother me 'cause I always buy a fuel-efficient vehicle. Good for my pocketbook, good for the air we all breath and good to cut our dependence on fossil fuels for lots of environmental and political reasons.

Hope it doesn't spoil your vacation , but you're right, it sure is expensive.

In CA gas is about $2.07/gallon now. The last time I filled up at Costco it was $1.93.

I don't drive a gas guzzler by any means and neither does dh. However, his commute to work is a long one and over five days, we are spending about $50 in gas for his car alone. Luckly, I don't use my car much so half a tank will last me several weeks. I don't know how we are going to be able to afford the gas if it does get up to $3.00 a gallon.

Very crazy!! Here in the DC suburbs gas is around $1.80 a gallon. I was so excited to find a station selling it for $1.79 last week.

I've heard in some other countries that gas is almost $4 a gallon.

Ours isn't a gas guzzler just a social drinker. Every day I watch the guy with that little thingamajig changing the prices of gas, I swear it changes 2 times a day!

We call mini vacations a day or two trip, we like to go off the beaten trail.

It's only $1.53 here, and if we use a walmart card at the walmart pumps its only $1.50 however, that is still a lot. Our car doesn't guzzle gas too much (our ford escort before had the best gas mileage!!) however, my husband drives 44 miles to work and 44 miles back from work every day (total of 88 miles) and he works 6 or sometimes 7 days a week. Plus all the other driving we put on the car.

I know the other day we went and bought a carton of cigarettes and filled the tank and it was almost $60

I liked that gasbuddy.com website. It showed that a station near me is one of the highest in the area. But it's right off the highway, and it's less than a mile into town to pay 16 cents per gallon less (1.65 instead of 1.81).

Hubby's new car is a Toyota Echo, and gets about 40 mpg. My minivan gets about half that, but with three kids to schlep around (4 on carpool days), our options are limited.

I have a Toyota Corolla and in the city driving I get about 35 mpg. I love it! ANd concidering that I drive maybe 2 miles round trip to work, it can last awhile.

The gas station I work at is currently at $1.62... the highest we have gone is $1.79, but is usually only up for half a day and then back down to about $1.65

Wow where do you live in Oklahoma and where does your hubby work. I work in Arkansas which is about an 18 mile drive one way for me. I buy most of my gas at the Chotaw Travel Plaza's.

Think I paid around $1.75 a gallon today for regular. Airfares are also going up 'cause of the fuel costs, be prepared for that too. Guess we'd better start saving our pennies now for vacations.

Ours bounces up and down, but I've learned never to buy any after Thursday noon until Monday. That's when they raise them and then they come back down. Today the cheapest I saw was $1.72.

WOW!! Oklahoma is very cheap right now!! Even though ours is only $1.79 a gallon, I'd much rather pay the 1.53!!

I just stopped with my daughter to fill up today & the gas here was only $1.49. $20 just about filled up the tank and that will last us almost all of next month since the weather is better now so hubby can walk to work again
