Everyone Please Read - Postcard Project

One of our local first grade school teachers, Mrs. Baker, is starting her annual postcard project. In their social studies curriculum, the kids are studying families from around the world. To make this more interesting for the children, Mrs. Baker is asking families to have extended family and friends send postcards to her classroom from the towns in which they live or places they may visit (while on vacation for example).

Last year Mrs. Baker`s class had over 350 postcards from 49 states and 15 different countries. Many of you helped with this project last year - THANK YOU!! My children are not in Mrs. Baker`s class, but as a parent who tries to support our local schools whenever possible, I thought it would be fun to enlist the help of my cyberfriends again this year.

The children truly enjoy reading each and every postcard and learning interesting facts about the people and places on the cards.

I did this with my girls when I was homeschooling. It is so much fun. We started out looking for postcards from the US and we started getting them from different countries! It is so cool. I will send a postcard.
I will have to get on here soon and list the postcards that we are still missing so that we can finish our book!
