My poor baby!

My five year old has always been real healthy, he has rarely been sick, but the last several months he has a hard time breathing, and has had severe sleep apena, along with a million other symtomns.

On April 5 he has to go in and have his adenoids and tonsils removed because they are so enlarged he can barely swallow. I feel so bad for him and he is so upset he has to miss a min. of 10 days of school. HE LOVES school so much.

I ask that you all keep him in your thoughts and prayers, because I know this is going to be hard on him, he is so active and I hate to see this hold him down.

If any of you would be willing to drop him a little letter or card in the mail please PM me for my address, he LOVES getting mail and I think it would really cheer him up during this time.

I have been through A LOT of surgeries myself, I know he will be fine, but I guess I worry because he is my baby!

Re: My poor baby!

I will keep him in my prayers. My brother had that surgery done a few years ago and doesn't remember a thing.
Remind him he gets ice cream! Maybe that will cheer him up a little.

Re: My poor baby!

Thanks Cujo! I will be so glad when this is all over, and he doesn't have to struggle to breath!

I keep telling him he can as much ice cream as he wants, his reply is "No, then my stomach will hurt!" We have lots of soft and cold foods ready for him.

Awww, I wish I could give him a hug!
Is there anything he really likes that would be a treat for him? If so, maybe it will be something you could offer him so he can look forward to something good when he gets better.

Hey, those Hershey Milkshakes are goooooood.
Cookies & Cream is the best in my book.
I can't drink them (calories) but they may go down easy for the little guy.

Re: My poor baby!

Awwww, poor little guy. Tell Brandon we're all thinking of him!!

Jenna, our youngest, had her tonsils (no adenoids, because they had dried up already) removed two years ago, when she was 19. They didn't want her eating too many soft things, and stressed she needed to eat crackers and potato chips, so she didn't form a thick scab over the incisions. That's when they can get into bleeding problems. The rough foods kept them thinner. Popcorn was a big no-no, though, because of the hulls.

Re: My poor baby!

Lisa...my oldest (13 in May) had the same surgery over a year ago because of his sleep apnea. Hearing him sleep was like listening to a freight train. He has GREATLY benefited from it. Even his severe allergies seem less harsh. Hrdlife/Steph's (mod here) son also went through it. Kyle had a big thing for sherbert ice cream after he came home. IN the hospital, recovert time, we couldn't get food to him quick enough..LOL! We were glad of that, it was a good sign. I would gladly send your little man a snail mail greeting, PM'ing you now.

Re: My poor baby!

Poor little guy! He is going to feel SO MUCH better when this is over. I remember wanting a cheeseburger so badly right after I got my tonsils out (I was 15).

Re: My poor baby!

Thanks for the well wishes!

I will be so happy when he can breath! He stops breathing in the middle of the night and sort of snorts himself awake 3 or 4 times a night every night for the past 4 or 5 months. Even during the day just sitting next to him you can't hear the TV over his breathing!

I appreciate the support, like I said I know it's no big deal, but I am still stressed out over it.
