Re: What is your favorite place in Las Vegas?

I went to see that overhead show downtown. I thought the graphics were great, but you said they are making them better now? I'll have to go back. We really enjoyed that while we were there, so much fun.

We went to see the overhead light show, too. It was a country theme the hour we saw, but it was Mardi Gras weekend when we were there, and the real 'show' was the young girl that shocked the crap out of Steph, when she was talked into flashing some guys for more beads...

Re: What is your favorite place in Las Vegas?

I love everything about Vegas, but that's because of the climate. I need warm/hot weather and lots of sun. Phoenix tends to get a bit warmer than Vegas in the summer. We have palm trees everywhere. I had 6 giant Queen Palms pulled out of my yards. But I have 2 Fan Palms. What's nice about the climate is everything is green all year 'round. It's very dry - yesterday our humidity was 7% and the temps were in the 90's. It was quite warm and very nice. Need the sun.

JJ's Boulangerie at the Paris. Sit "outside" and watch the people stroll by "outdoors" while you munch on a delicious pastry. Yumm!

I agree. I really miss the desert. However, based on some research I am starting to think New Mexico may be better for me than Arizona. There are areas there where it doesn't get as hot as Phoenix in summer, 85-100 instead of 100-120. The winter is colder, with a few dustings of snow here and there. But the whole Southwest rules, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada.
Stay tuned, one day I will save up some dough and head out west. Even my user name here is a tribute to the desert! (blue agave cactus from which tequila is distilled, as I am sure you know Toby!)

The delicious buffets at the Rio Hotel.
I also like the canal in the Venetian.

We really liked the Rio, we saw Masquerade in the Sky. We didn't have time to try the buffets. That was one pretty casino.
