So, not only is this going to be the year of the cicadas where we are ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]), but ANOTHER year of the Asian lady beetles. And the weird thing is, they aren't all the same kind. Some have black heads, some don't. Some have no dots, some have lots, and some just have a few. Some are true red in color, and some are orange, and some are gold. But they all STINK!!! ![]()

| Re: They're ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ck! Yeppers Kylee....as soon as it warmed up they came crawling out of their hiding places. Thankfully I managed to keep them OUT last year a lot better than other years so I have only seen one here and there over the past few days.

| Re: They're ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ck! I feel your pain. We've had a few stray bugs hanging out all winter, but as soon as it got over 40 they came out of the woodwork - literally. Shane sure is amused by them. He says "Wee-Buck" for ladybug. ![]() Stinky is right! I about freak out when one of the boys come over with one in their hand. Peeee-eewwww!

| Re: They're ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ck! They are in your house, and have been hiding all winter. The only way to get rid of them is to vacuum them; nothing else helps unless you want the smell by smashing them. I dread seeing the critters all summer again! ![]() |

| Back?.... they never left.... we have had them virtually all winter I think they were all choosing partners because now...we've got MORE!!! They are EVERYWHERE!!! They float in the pet's water bowl, they get in the sink, they are in the laundry, they are in my purse (I take them with me to work!)...ARGH!!!!I have sucked literally thousands with the vacuum...and it is a never-ending battle..... It could be worse...they could be mice...or roaches....or mosquitoes...or.... |

| Re: They're ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ck! These ladybugs are driving me crazy too! I'm scared to use our side door - we have this old porch that was enclosed and is now like this little mud room and my kids usually use it to go in and out to the bus. Nobody wants to go in there anymore because you quite literally get "attacked" by the them and you have to flick them all off the door knob before you can open the door. It's insane! We also have to check the beds for them before we climb in for the night or else we risk getting bit and/or smelling that nasty odor and those little pieces of their wings hurt if you happen to roll over on one! I can't keep up with them and obviously I can't vacuum all day, so out of desperation, I tried fly paper but they manage to get free from it. I've sprayed this bug spray around most of our windows and it's suppose to keep killing them for up to 30 days. So far, it's working, but it can't work fast enough for my liking! Will it ever end? Honestly, they are becoming more of a health hazzard in my house now, as well as a pest. The kids have taken them to school in their backpacks. They are also in our laundry, the water bowl, the sink too as well as in our dishwasher, coats/jackets, shoes, cabinets, and I have even found them in both our refridgerator and freezer! We have to cover our food, check our drinks and they even bother the baby. He can't stand ladybugs already. A few days ago, he was eating and suddenly began waving his arm around wildly. I grabbed his arm to get him to stop and I noticed one was sitting on his wrist. He had a little red spot where it was, so I hope it didn't bite him. I don't guess it would really hurt him, but I still don't life the idea of anything biting my baby.Ugh... next fall, I think we'll call one of those pest terminators. While searching for the idenity of a tick-looking insect with crab like claws (which I never did find out what it was, btw), I stumbled across either Terminex or Orkin's website and they actually listed ladybugs as pests and gave advice on how to control them. I might just give them a call. There is NOOOOOOOOO way I'm putting up with this again next year. |

| Re: They're ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ck! I love ladybugs ... but of course we're not inundated by them. One place we go to gets swarms of midge flies in the warm weather, and those are also terrible! Especially at night, especially if you've got any windows open (with screens on), they are attracted by any lights, and I have to vacuum them up every morning. If you accidently squish one, you can't get the green stains out. Yuck!

You talking about the midge flies reminds of the time we were on the beach in Florida, and the love bugs invaded. It took about two minutes flat for this HUGE beach to evacuate. They were AWFUL!!! You didn't want to breath, because you might suck one up your nose.
