Question Do you sleep through your alarm clock?

It doesn't matter how loud that thing rings, I can, and have slept through the ring of that darn clock. I think I need the kind where the music goes on, I think that would be better.

Re: Do you sleep through your alarm clock?

I used to. What works for me without scaring me with loud noise is to have the classical music station set so when the "alarm" goes off I wake up to relaxing classical music.

Re: Do you sleep through your alarm clock?

Anything wakes me up. My alarm isn't loud at all. In fact, two of my roommates have commented that they never hear it go off. That's probably because they're heavy sleepers. My roommate last year had to have her alarm set so that when it went off it would play music as loud as it could go...not so pleasant for me but it was better than having a normal alarm go off continuously because she couldn't hear it.

Re: Do you sleep through your alarm clock?

Yep, sleep through it all the time. But I have an alarm that has a second time for another alarm and I get up to that one.

Re: Do you sleep through your alarm clock?

The only time ever in my life that I've slept through my alarm was the morning after I got back from the DOD trip to Vegas. Think we had a little too much fun? LOL!!!

Re: Do you sleep through your alarm clock?

Yep, every day. I'm never on time for work. My clock is set for 7 a.m., and my body clock doesn't go off until 7:30. I have to leave the house at 8:00 - that's after getting myself and the 2 boys ready.

Geez, Shainie, what kind of job do you have that allows that? If I did that when I worked, I'd have been fired long ago! Try setting your alarm for 6:30. Maybe that way you'll wake up at 7:00. Bodies can be trained.

I guess I have "fear of being fired from not getting to work on time." I have a double alarm clock!

For some reason, I sleep through my husbands alarm (it goes off around 5:00 am) but always wake up for mine at 7:00 am.

Re: Do you sleep through your alarm clock?

I always wake up before the alarm goes off. Or one of my natural alarm clocks wakes me...Eric or baby Susan.

Re: Do you sleep through your alarm clock?

I'm a very heavy sleeper, but like Jennifer I have an internal clock that wakens me prior to when I need or want to get up. I don't use an alarm clock. Plus the dogs wake me to give me sloppy kisses as soon as they wake up from their long sleep at night... before the pad out the doggy door to go pee.

When I was younger I needed an alarm clock. Guilty of pushing the button down a few times.

Re: Do you sleep through your alarm clock?

I don't have an alarm clock anymore - I get up when I get up. One of the fringe benefits of being a SAHM

Usually though, the guys will wake me up just from the sound of the showers running so I can have breakfast ready before they make it to the kitchen. But, if I don't feel like getting up (like when it's still dark in the winter), I can just stay in bed until later - hubby is good about making grits or eggs for them.

Our DD is horrible about getting up to an alarm clock. It's a really good thing that she's always worked the second shift because her "natural" alarm is set to wake up around 11:30 am! When she was in high school, it used to take me about 1/2 hour to wake her up in the morning and I am so glad that her brothers don't seem to have that problem.
