Lightbulb Sleep like a Baby??

Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?

Re: Sleep like a Baby??

I think it is because when they are sleeping, they are so darn hard to wake up. I remeber my oldest used to sleep in the daytime and be up at night. we would try to wake her in the day to change that pattern, talk about impossible. When they are out they are out!!

I thought "Sleep like a baby" meant:
Without worries or cares.

Re: Sleep like a Baby??

"Sleep Like A Baby", that is pretty funny when you think about it. You're right, they are always waking up. These days that's how I sleep, like a baby, talk about restless nights. I wake up every hour to see if the alarm clock went off yet, so I'll be sure to get to work on time. I wish my body would just let me sleep sometimes. Talk about feeling exhausted all day.

There was a comedian I heard who said that one morning he woke up with his thumb in his mouth, and his pants were wet. He must have slept like a baby.
