I am hooked on online jigsaw puzzles!

I just discovered Shockwave's jigsaw puzzles (the free ones), and I'm addicted! I love jigsaw puzzles anyway, and these virtual ones are GREAT!

Anyone else like to do them (online)? Do you know of any good free puzzle sites you can share with me?

Anywho, if you do want a fun one to try at home, get The Simpson's Limited Editions 1000 piece puzzle: A Montage of Characters.

I got this for my DH and it was the most annoying yet fun puzzle ever! All the pieces looked the same since everyone is yellow! hehe

I love jigsaw puzzles! I haven't tried any online ... never even thought about it ... but just did at the site you recommended. Oh my. That's fun! I love how it 'clicks' when the pieces match. I can't stay online long - I only have a dialup connection at home - but I'll have fun if I can get a cable connection. Thanks for letting us know about that.

Nooo... I can't even go look because I know I'd easily waste an entire afternoon with online puzzles. I have enough of a problem with real ones. It's all my dad's fault - he'd allow us to take over the dining room table with huge puzzles that would take us a week or so to finish

It's cool, though, because you can save it, then walk away and come back to it when you want.

And look at that......on the Shockwave website, Jigsaw Puzzles is first of the top five mindgames.

So do the rest of you do them like I do......the outside first, then work on the inside?

Has anyone tried today's Daily Puzzle on Shockwave yet? It starts out in sepia, but when you connect a piece, it turns to color. That makes it doubly hard to find subsequent matching pieces, because it takes away the color element of matching!

Yes, that's the way I do it. Is there any other way? Gotta do the 'fun part' first - the outside - okay, it's the easy part - then start working on the distinctive features of the puzzle next. I thought the puzzle would be as large as the window it was in, so I was surprised that the one puzzle I've had time for so far was quite a bit smaller than the opened window. I've been trying to get another one of their online puzzles today, but it keeps telling me to try later, that there's some kind of error. I'll keep trying.

I just did today's free daily puzzle - an ocean scene - and it took me 25 minutes (although I did get up a couple times). The top scores are for like 2-1/2 to 10 minutes. Wonder how they can do it so fast??? Hmmmmm.

Today's didn't give me much trouble, but yesterday's (the yellow orchids) took me FOREVER, for some reason!

Have you submitted any pictures for puzzles yet? I just did. We'll see if it gets used. I imagine they get LOTS.

No, I haven't submitted any pictures. I didn't realize you could do that. You take very good, clear pictures, so you may stand a good chance of having yours accepted. What was the picture of? And, of course, if it gets turned into a jigsaw puzzle, you must let us know! That would be so neat.

It was one that I took while geocaching. And yes, I'll be sure to let you know if they use it!



Photobucket resizes the photos, so it never looks as clear as the actual picture, so it does look better as submitted.
