How do I make the background of my avatars clear? I usually asked someone to do it for me, but I'd like to figure out how to do it myself.

For GIF Graphics only.

This is what I use.

Click file- (drop down menu) select file open- (for a graphic saved on your PC) click browse- and retrieve your graphic (upload image)- edit- (drop down menu) select add transparency. A small window will come up and you just click on the area of your graphic that you want to be transparent. The finished graphic will be back in the original workspace of where you started. Just save it again by right clicking on it or file- (drop down menu) save file..and TADA!
