Can't count Change?? Don't worry...

I went into a local Osco store yesterday and the gal was getting my change....when all of a sudden a heard a chi-ching noise. Right beside her register was a thingy holding all the change in columns. All she did was put how much I gave her in her till and this machine figured the change and everything. I said to her, no more need for math classes at schools now huh??!! She looked at me and then just turned and left! Jeesh! I was kidding!! But I think it will for sure take away the friendliness of the help!!!

Yeah I have seen those freesurfer. But she had no reason to be so rude.

Maybe she wasn't trying to be rude, but just didn't get the joke.

She looked at her then just turned and walked away! That is rude in my book no matter how you slice and dice it.

After she gave the customer the change, is she supposed to carry the bags to the car? If so that was rude. In my grocery store, they don't carry your bags to the car, so once I get my change, my transaction is over with the cashier. She's supposed to move on to the next customer; I don't consider that rude, that's her job. There is one grocery store in town where they carry your bags to the car, so they can't walk away after giving you your change, that would be rude. But it's more expensive, so I don't go often.

I'm just saying give the poor girl a chance. She was probably tired and didn't get the joke. We've all bombed with a joke before and it's embarassing when you're sitting there and no one's laughing. I did it yesterday and I started explaining the joke to my husband but he said "oh I get it; it just isn't funny."
o well. But I didn't get mad at him.

I haven't seen these yet. I'll bet the girl thought you were trying to insult her, even though you weren't, the young ones can be very sensitive.

I'm sure she didn't get the joke but shouldn't there should have at least been a "thanks for shopping," or something on that line too??

Yes she should have said something as I stated before it was just plain rude. Customer service has gone way down hill.

Customer service will go down hill because of the technology now a days.
