Ok this is embarassing...foot odor

Ok this is really embarassing, but I have really bad foot odor. My feet just stink as do my shoes! I wash them, use lotions, the powders and sprays, but nothing will fix it.

Does anyone know of things that you can do to fix it? Is it a problem that can even be fixed? Believe me this drives me NUTS I would do anything to solve the problem.

My sister had this problem, I don't know if she still has it but nothing worked for her. She went to the doctor and found out she was allergic to her own sweat. I don't know much about it but the odor was REALLY bad and NOTHING worked. I wish I cuold help more.

how old are the shoes? Do you always wear them with socks? If your shoes stink, toss them, and start over. My kids can blow through shoes and make them rank by not wearing socks.

Sorry about it. Don't be embarrassed, I think everyones feet stink! lol

My daughter has always had this problem and I believe a few years ago they said they had a surgery to remedy this. ????

If it bothers you, I would check in to it.


Note: AG can not stand feet, pretty, ugly, sweet smelling, foul smelling, big feet, little feet! Okay, baby feet are cute. But THAT'S IT!

Definitely never wear shoes w/o socks....AIR AIR AIR! When you're home, let those bad boys air out...WITHOUT socks also..your feet NEED this. Ok...you can try another powder if you wish, but it may be embarrassing to buy..hee hee...Summer's Eve Feminine Powder. We have pretty much beat the foot odor deal in this house by encouraging the kids to take their shoes off, but I sneak a little sprinkle of this in everyone's shoes Shhhh...don't tell, hubby would have a fit! LOL!

I think I am going to buy all new Odor Eaters socks and get rid of my shoes - they REEK!

I read that there are some prescriptions that will slowly elimiate the "bad" bacteria on feet that cause odor...maybe I'll look into it.

Thanks for all the suggestions though! This problem stinks, literally...LOL!

I was also thinking some anti-bacterial lotion? I think the odor might be caused by bacteria.


Don't be embarrassed though, I have to put on deodorant several times per day...and I've ruined many shirts. Everybody's got something!

Bathe them in baking soda. Also, use Odor Eaters foot powder, anything for athletes foot, that could be the problem.

Check with a podiatrist, or until then try the Dr. Scholl's powder for foot odor. Someone I knew had a bad problem and the doctor had him wear white cotton socks during treatment.

After reading all of this I realized I do alot of these things anyway and my feet don't smell.
I wear white cotton socks whenever possible, I wear cotton tennis shoes because leather doesn't allow the feet to breathe, I'm always barefoot unless I leave to go somewhere...I'm even barefoot outside my house...my shoes are the last thing I put on and the first to go off when I leave and come home, I lotion my feet with my body lotion right after I shower...I buy my lotion from bath and body works, I used to buy expensive shoes but now I buy the cheap ones so that I have to replace them more often. I also buy new socks when I buy shoes.
Maybe there is something to what I do and maybe its just that I don't have that problem. I don't know. Good luck and please let us know what works.

DRINK A LOT OF WATER
There is a slight chance if there is body wide sweating etc, the reasons for sweaty(hyperhydrosis) feet or smelly feet/bromohydrosis could be from as anemia/ low blood count or hyperthyroidism/ overactive thyroid

try not to wear synthetic shoes or synthetic socks..natural fibers "breathe", ie silk cotton
soak feet in tomato juice-for odor
soak feet in tea/possibly purple tea is the best-soothing plus helps rid odor-tea has astringent properties
put baking soda in bath-again soothing for feet and diminishes foot odor
try baking soda with a few teaspoons of vinegar
buy some tea tree oil-anti fungal anti bacteria-it can irritate some people's skin-cheaper to buy the essential oil and put it in shampoo or even a couple of drops to clean teeth etc-
supposedly taking a bath with some ginger for a long time helps one to sweat and rid body of toxins
if you are suddenly excessively sweating, check your teeth out. You may have a gum infection.
antiperspirants-don't think it is healthy although it helps prevent feet from sweating-
people do use antiperspirants on their feet..who knows..I think it is better to get the toxins out!
deodorize the shoes-ie put activated charcoal,yes coffee grounds,yes grass clippings, yes baking soda, yes even cat litter-

drink a lot of water-
dust your feet with cornstarch or powder
don't wear the same shoes but alternate
try rubbing your feet with turnip juice or radish juice-supposedly natural deodorants
buy some ginger root-mash it up and use the juice and rub it on your feet-keep on trying it-
you might also try rubbing lemon on your feet
some body odor caused by zinc deficiency
might try adding such herbs such as coriander, licorice, cinammon, oregano and rosemary to your diet-great antifungals
have read about paraffin treatment..wonder if one tries to wax the bottom of one's feet with melted down cooled candle..might be worth a go
might try to forego sugar and alcohol for a week to see if that has anything to do with it
might try buying some acne soap and using that on your feet..it is anti bacteria...
might try eating parsley and cilantro..they might help absorb odor..also have read that cilantro is great metal detoxer...great with salsa and chips!
you might try zinc supplements..you may have a deficiency..can be a great immune supporter
you might try diluted liquid chlorophyll or a "purple drink" to help combat body odor

I read in Hints from Heloise about putting an absorbant paper towel in your shoe each day. That is supposed to really help.

When I was growing up my brother had bad feet. We had a bucket and soap set outside for him before he could come in he had to wash his feet and his shoes never came in the house. My parents ended up taking him to the Dr. and the Dr. said to dry between each toe really, really good. My brother started that and within a little time no smells! Hope this helps!
