How do I get rid of this annoying popup?

All of a sudden, when I do a google search, another search engine pops up with their results.

search-company is their name.

My pop-up blocker won't block it, because the title changes with every search.

Any ideas?

I wonder what started it? It does it for any search engine I use. It says "contact us" at the bottom, which I did, but I'm not counting on them e-mailing me back.

Nope... it's not supposed to happen. You'll need to do some preventive maintenance and keep updated and running your spyware removers on a weekly basis. Also use a firewall.

My version of Internet Explorer 6 has been hijacked by BlazeFind so that any search will now go to their site. At least, that is what it is trying to do.

I am able to partially fix it by going to google.com and applying the goolge toolbar. That at least makes my search button work with Google. BlazeFind also brings up a bunch of pop ups.

Mostly I use NetScape 7.1 so IE's faults don't matter much to me, but I am annoyed of being a victim.

For BlazeFind do this. BTW, I also have PestPatrol installed... another nice program that prevents my computer from being hijacked. Guys and Girls... you must install and use your spyware programs. That way you'll have no problems. Without protection you are at risk.

It was exactly what was happening to my computer (why those links talked about) including my homepage being changed.

Thanks for the info about BlazeFind; I had already manually tracked it down and deleted the IESEARCHBAR directory and re-GOOGLEd my search button. Resetting my home page was simple. While these tasks were easy for me, they may not be so for other users and we can provide more details if anyone wishes.

This was a particularly malicious hijacking. I regularly run Adaware and Norton AV but they didn't catch it. Would Pest Patrol have caught it, TL?

YW Harry. Yes, it would have found it... if you had been updated to the latest bad stuff on the web. There site has a removal tool.

Another program (freeware) I use is WinPatrol. Scotty the Watchdog runs in the background and alerts me to any new programs that are being added. This is also highly recommended.
