Re: Dish Network....GRRRRR!

I agree Pandy . . . but what is going to lose them more money, agreeing to what Viacom wants, or losing thousands of subscribers? I agree, we don't know the details.

Re: Dish Network....GRRRRR!

I am soooo glad we switched to cable a few months ago! We had nothing but problems from Dish Network. First, there were billing problems, then receiver problems, then programming problems. Add in the fact that every single time we had a storm come through there was no reception and we said "No More!!"

Shainie, I feel for you! I would hate to be under contract with them right now and their little disclaimer regarding programming commitments is outrageous! Why should you be subject to their contract when the terms of programming have changed? It doesn't seem legal to me but I'm not a lawyer.

Re: Dish Network....GRRRRR!

What a goofy website! Someone was fast on their toes getting that up so quick! LOL

It's a good thing this isn't affecting the local channels. If I had to miss Survivor over this crap, somebody would pay dearly with my foot up their butt! LOL

Go to channel 101 on DishNetwork and you can see a tape of Charlie Ergen talking about this over and over. Doesn't give any details at all though.

Re: Dish Network....GRRRRR!

WAIT! He just said they are giving us additional channels that we wouldn't normally have to replace the others until this is resolved. Not that great of channels but its better than nothing.

Re: Dish Network....GRRRRR!

There. My poor little Gary Avatar shows how I feel. lol

I won't be happy until they give me back the channels I'm paying for. They can give me free HBO, CINEMAX, SHOWTIME, etc. And I still won't be satisfied.

Hopefully something will be settled and FAST.

I saw those too over the weekend and I told my DH ut-oh...this doesn't look promising! I'm ticked off that I won't be seeing Crank Yankers or Dave Chappelle. I'll miss Spongebob as well! GRRRR!

That sucks! I have DirecTV and have been extremely happy with the service but I can't believe that DishTV would risk losing subscribers over something like that. We have three channels of Nickelodeon+Noggin+PBS Kids...probably comprise 99% of the viewing when the t.v. is on! Oh and Comedy Central too after the kids go to bed. Yikes!

I also have Direct TV and love it! I RARELY lose my signal during storm fronts. I think it has happened twice ever and only for about 2-3 minutes each time. I don't think that's bad.

Re: Dish Network....GRRRRR!

They did hike my monthly bill like $3 more a month 2 months ago...of course sending you that wonderful little PPV coupon to use as a nice gesture...UGH UGH UGH!!! w/o the comedy channel I can't get my MAD TV fix and THAT was just brought to the broadcast not too long ago...kids are not too happy...then of course the oldest son (and us adults) like watching VH1 and MTV.
This on top of the crap I have put up with trying to get an upgrade...called Jan. 19th. and on the day they were to install the new Dish (Feb. 23rd. 12-5) they called at like 3:35 to say they didn't have a friggin' pole that was needed....this just burns my butt....we also recently had to start paying local/state sales taxes on our bill, which this past month was another $2.22 on top of the monthly increase.

Ditto that! I would sit on the weekend and watch the MAD TV Marathon. I LOVE that show.

The CEO has been on all night talking about the deal, but I haven't watched it, with American Idol and American's Next Top Model being on tonight.

I don't care how they do it, I want my channels back! I'll even pay extra a month for them if I have to. (Until my contract is up, then I'm outta there).

Re: Dish Network....GRRRRR!

I was just coming to post the info from the above link, so here it is: (by the way we never did loose our channels despite some losing them for almost 2 days) but the whole time we watched viacom channels it hada notice at the bottom of the screen saying to contact dish network about trying to keep the channels. GLAD I get to keep some of our favorite channels now!

Re: Dish Network....GRRRRR!

I have DirectTV, and last night, I did notice some commercials stating that only cable and DirectTV would have some of the dropped channels. I'm glad you guys got SOME of your channels back. I was feeling so bad for you while I was watching the hilarious adventures of Nick and Jessica...LOL.

("bratsworth?" and why is it white??? )

Re: Dish Network....GRRRRR!

We got our channels back as well...it was really late last night (read: actually a.m) when I noticed....still missed Nick and Jessica...grrrr..

I fired off a letter to the addy listed...not just about the dropped channels, but more about the awful time I have been having trying to get our dish upgrade completed...well, I can tell ya now..there isn't a soul actually READING those email any of us have sent...I got a generic response this morning and not a single issue of our upgrade problems were addressed...HELLLLLO, I even signed it "Totally getting fed up with Dish Network's service!"
