My flight was changed!!

I am ticked! I booked this flight back in December and it cost me and arm and leg too! I had schedule for a flight on May 21 leaving at 12:15 PM. Now I got a recorded phone call saying my flight was changed to 9:19 AM. Now if they changed it by 15 or 20 minutes, which they often do, it wouldn't be a big deal. But this is pain for me. That was going to be my last day here so I was planning on seeing some friends in the morning before I leave. Not to mention the fact that I'm going to have to leave for the airport much earlier now. Grr.

I am just ticked. If it was ME that was changing the flight times I would be charged $100, yet they are allowed to simply make changes. I paid A LOT of money for this ticket - more than I have ever paid before!

That is annoying, not being able to visit with your friends, and having to get to the airport earlier. Don't you just love plane travel, as I say that sarcastically.

Twinplets is welcome here
We had this problem with Delta Airlines once. we'd bought tickets in July 2001 for travel at Christmastime, but after 9/11 they redid their schedules and that flight didn't exist anymore. Here's the amusing part - our tickets hadn't been bought together (my sister-in-law bought tickets for the kids, two with FF miles and one in cash, and hubby and I bought our own tickets). So when Delta rescheduled us, they didn't put us all on the same flight. I called them to explain the problem, and found that pretty much all of the options were pretty bad. We either had to take a flight at a lousy time, or have a flight with a layover instead of direct. I was tempted to keep the flights they assigned us, and let them deal with a pair of unaccompanied 3-year-olds.

Why don't you try calling the airline and see if there is another, later, flight they could put you on, since they didn't ask for your travel plans before arbitrarily reassigning you. That is one drawback to buying tickets so far in advance, the airlines can change their schedules. But if you *don't* buy ahead, then the flights might be full.
