My kids got a Snow day!!!

My kids were so excited this morning when I told them to go back to bed because there was no school. It is the first ever REAL snow day for them (where they have the whole day off). My oldest is 13 so they are able to stay home alone and he is in charge as the "babysitter". Also my parents live across the street so if they need anything they call grandma. They have already shoveled the driveway for me and are doing laundry! I LOVE MY KIDS (most of the time )

They realize that things are difficult with their dad & I separated so they are trying to help out as much as possible. They are such good kids.

A snow day, really? You guys must have gotten much more than us then. We're between St. Cloud and the cities and only got about 3 inches. The last few snowstorms gave us much more than this one did!

We got somewhere around 3-6 inches, BUT it rained first & then the wet heavy snow on top. The roads were like an icy washboard this morning! It was treacherous coming in to work. I almost turned around and went back home, but the closer I got to work the better the roads were so I toughed it out & just took my time getting in. I guess the roads are getting better as the day wears on. Apparently most everything has melted and the roads are wet.

I know this morning, the branches on all of the pine trees in the area were weighed down terribly. My pine trees are trimmed up so I can walk under them when I cut the grass and they were sagging on the ground!

Snow day? Yuk! One more day to make up now!!

I was wrong. We ended up with a grand total of 7+ inches and, as far as making it up, they won't have to. There are a certain number of days built into the school year just for that reason. This was their first snow day so it won't extend their year any at all

You got alot of snow, they said we're supposed to get some the beginning of next week. I thought for sure that springtime was here, the temps have been milder than usual, roads dry.

You might say I had a snow day too because my driveway (a hill) wasn't plowed until late this afternoon. I had to stay home anyway because I was getting a new garage door, and just moving the car was very slippery. The truck barely made it up the hill.
Julie, I heard there was no power over your way. Evidently you were one of the lucky ones; there were thousands without and a lot of schools and offices closed because of it.

Snow??????? Yuck!!!!!!! It was a wonderful, sunny SPRING day here today. Got up into the 70's.

Snow day. Hmmmmm........ Friday, I was walking the beach on Anna Maria Island, off the coast of Bradenton, Florida, and it was 88°, not a cloud in the sky, and I got a sunburn, and ............. I'll shut up now.
