Suggestion on a friendship song, asap Please!!!

Hello, I am working on a project for my daughter and her friends, I need an upbeat friendship song asap.

I have considered the theme from Friends, but it has several negative parts to it, and I would prefer to get something that has more positive words throughout.

The Graduation song will not do.

Please, I need to choose a song like yesterday! I didnt realize my husband was getting our children out of the house for the day so I could work on this until now.

The song should be appropriate for teenage girls being silly, as well as professional behavior. This is for a memory gift for several girls being friends and working together to achieve a goal.

Oh, please help! And if you have a link to the soundtrack, please add so I can listen to the song before I run out to buy it.

Many thanks, Barbara

"Angels Among Us" by the group Alabama.

It's a book with a CD, and has gotten 5 star ratings from people who have purchased it. I have no idea what it sounds like, but from what I have read, people's comments, it must be pretty special.

Do you know that song "Forever Young"? I have no idea what the lyrics are, but remember that they used that song on a video made at my dd's school. I wish dd was here right now. She knows so many songs...

You've got a Friend by James Taylor.

Wind beneath my Wings by Bette Midler

I like Forever Young by Alphaville too. You can check out the lyrics by going to www.google.com and typing in "lyrics forever young".

Dionne Warwick - That's What Friends Are For
==============================================
And I never thought I'd feel this way
And as far as I'm concerned
I'm glad I got the chance to say That I do believe I love you
And if I should ever go away
Well then close your eyes and try
To feel the way we do today and then if you can remember

Keep smilin' keep shinin'
Knowing you can always count on me for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Well you came and opened me
And now there's so much more I see
And so by the way I thank you
And then for the times when we're apart
Well then close your eyes and know
These words are coming from my heart
And then if you can remember

Keep smilin' keep shinin'
Knowing you can always count on me for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

The original "Forever Young" was done in the 80's by a band called Asia. Both versions are very nice. I think the original though has a more.....sad type quality to it?

An FYI, in case you might want to find the original version as well.

I've always loved this one when thinking of friends.

I must be thinking of a different "Forever Young" cause didn't Rod Stewart do one called that too in the 80's?

That's what friends are for was my graduation song from middle school (actually Catholic school from K-9). Brings back sad/happy memories.

Re: Suggestion on a friendship song, asap Please!!!

I know this is probably a little late, but the first song that came to my mind is by Michael W. Smith, "For You". The beat and background music with the verses have a silly sound to them, kinda child-like and playful, but the chorus is awesome, as is the overall message! So if by chance you still need a song (or if anyone else is looking for something like this!), you should be able to find it at any Christian or family bookstore with little problem. Here's the info and lyrics:

-----------------------
For You
From the album "Go West Young Man"

Words: Michael W. Smith and Wayne Kirkpatrick
Music: Michael W. Smith

Sittin' in the rain
Water on your brain
Got a hole in your boat
Trying to stay afloat
Has got you down
I've got a wind in my sail
Rubber boots and a pail
I'll throw you a line
Rest assured that I
Won't ever let you drown

Chorus:
'Cause when you're up against the wall
You know I'll be here for you, for you
When you rise and when you fall
I'll always be here for you, for you

When the plans you make
Fall through and take you
For a loop
Or some bird has flown the coop
And left you stranded
Just lean on me
And together you see
We'll carry the load
Even if we don't
Quite understand it

Chorus x 2
------------------------

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!!
