Re: You won't see this on a Mcdonalds Commercial

I read in The Week magazine about a guy that did a McDonald's diet for a month. He ate breakfast, lunch & dinner at McDs. He gained around 30 pounds in a month and his doctor told him his liver wasn't functioning properly and he had to stop eating that food because it was killing him.

McDonalds is actually rethinking their menus now, coming up with more healthy substitutes since so many people are now more health conscious. But that photo of those boys, wow! That's just not healthy.

I was thinking that Mcdonald's and others are doing this for multiple reasons. First that they were starting to get lawsuits filed against them by various individuals making claims against Mcdonald's-not that I think they are necessarily valid arguements(check spelling). And the other that it was more appealing for certain customers that actually wanted a fairly healthy alternatives, more options etc. I read a article that says 30% of children are considered obese-whether you believe those numbers is up to each individual-after all we live in a age of spinning data, and making people believe something that might not be true or being politically correct. I have this little joke above my computer that shows a family and son standing at a burger shop order get this-a request to have my order

OBESE-ER-SIZED

I had my pre-school-aged kids in the car while placing an order at the drive-thru at Wendy's, and the kids asked why we wanted the meal "Piggie sized". I explained that it was "Biggie sized", but that if you eat too many of them you'll *be* piggy-sized.

He made a documentary about it that was screened at Sundance.
The review said you can see his appearance change from healthy to pasty sickly looking in just a few weeks.

Re: You won't see this on a Mcdonalds Commercial

Okay, I worked at McDonald's for 3 months in WA, while living with my brother several years ago, because I worked the night shift we got to take home the extra food, so I ate McDonald's pretty much every day for 3 months for breakfast, lunch and dinner becaues it was all free.

I am very small (97 pounds) and have a VERY HARD time gaining weight, in that 3 month period I gained 21 pounds eating McDonald's so I agree it can be fattening!

To those that eat McDonald's let me suggest you NOT EVER order a grilled chicken in the evening, they make them in the morning and NEVER replace them all day (they don't sell as much so they just let them sit) I know this was true of my McDonald's as well as probably 20 other McDonald's. I have written their main offices regarding this practice and have pretty much been told to butt out, that they have to save money in as many ways as possible, and that it isn't time wise to make them fresh for people.

Just thought I'd share!
