Discussion: Kill a butterfly? *

For an all-expense-paid, one-week vacation anywhere in the world, would you be willing to kill a beautiful butterfly by pulling off its wings? What about stepping on a cockroach?

Re: Discussion: Kill a butterfly? *

I would not kill a butterfly. I would kill a cockroach in a heartbeat though. I know that sounds terrible but I grew up in roach infested apartments and houses- they are filthy and I would step on it for nothing.

God Bless!!

Re: Discussion: Kill a butterfly? *

There's no way I'd kill a butterfly. We enjoy them so much in the summer, we even have a book on how to identify them.

Cockroach, without a thought. They are disgusting and germy in my opinion.

I guess I am just mean, but I would kill the butterfly and the cockroach. Butterfly's have a very short life span anyway.

Butterflies are so beautiful, no, don't think so. A cockroach on the other hand, no question, he's doomed and my trip awaits.

Re: Discussion: Kill a butterfly? *

I know butterflies represent so many beautiful things to lots of people. But I raised 6 of them in a Butterfly Pavillion I got for my son's birthday, and let me tell ya, people, familiarity breeds contempt! LOL! I kept them through their mating period, and I discovered that they are nasty, jealous, violent little beasties! I won't go into the disgusting details, but I gotta say that I lost all respect for them! I now see them as the bird's meal they mostly end up as, so yeah, I'd kill one. BUT, I'd end it quickly and as painlessly as possible; much nicer than the birds themselves might be!
