Migraines & Relpax

I went to the doctor yesterday after a 48 hour excruciating headache and was told I suffer from migraine headaches. I figured that was the problem. They gave me Relpax and was curious if anyone else out there took this? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

I take Maxalt-MLT for mine and I think it is a WONDER drug! I have never heard of Relpax before. Good luck with it!

I think that's what my mom takes, Jennifer, and it works for her! Is it a peach colored tablet?

No mine are white. They just gave me a few samples for now. She said if it works the will call in a prescription for me. So now I have to sit and wait for a migraine to show up before I know if it will work. This is the first time I have really had a severe enough headache that I felt I should see my doctor.

Maybe they come in different dosages, which might make them a different color. Next time I talk to my mom, I'll ask her, but I think that's what she takes.

Relpax has worked wonders for me. I've tried many of the other meds over the years and have had side effects or they haven't worked. I also take Topamax for "preventative" migraines. I'm a nurse and do not like to take meds with exception of Vitamin supplements, but these two meds work!

That one didn't work as well for me - the one that I found works the best is Migranol - you have to actually squirt it up your nose ... but it works. Good luck - migraines stink!
