Good advice, Blue. The 'snit' rule is a good one.
My advice to parents......crayons and a coloring book can be a sanity saver on any trip.

We took some friends with us a couple of times to Canada on vacation. One of them was really anal about washing his clothes, he would not use a washing machine, everything had to be hand washed in the sink. We thought that was taking it a bit far. The other one used to take beers out of the refrigerator of my DH's father's house and my DH's aunt's house without even asking. We haven't taken him anywhere with us since then. He is now more of an acquaintance, who as you might have guessed, has a drinking problem.

Thanks for the article. I had one of those nightmare travel companions on a trip last year. She was constantly rolling her eyes and was really irritable but would never say what the problem was. Not fun to be with at all. Needless to say, I didn't invite her on our trip this year.
