Hey everyone! Update! Moving to Newport News, VA!

Hi! I have not fallen off the face of the earth... just been lying low for the past week.

It will be a month Sunday that I have been unemployed. Whoooeee am I ready to get back at it.

Moving again! Moving to Newport News, VA on Sunday. My father is driving up to Winchester on Saturday evening, spending the night and then we are getting back on the road bright and early Sunday morning. He wants to be back home for Football. I was going to go down there earlier, but because of all the mess from Isabel, I had to wait until it died down and the power came back on.

I have mixed emotions about the entire thing. Nervous and excited at the same time. I am excited about getting a job and getting some things taken care of, but also not sure about my father and I am going to miss my other family a lot.

My father said I can totally redecorate my bedroom however I want, so I am looking at ideas as I type! I have always wanted to totally do a room, and it has a walk in closet as well and I am going to get some heavy organizing done right away!

He also told me I can do whatever I want to the backyard. It needs some TLC, so I am going to try and get some good grass going out back, possibly plant a garden someday and do some flowerbeds and decorative stuff. This house is in my fathers will as mine, so he said I could start now!

Anyway, thats about all. Been cross-stiching and learning how to crochet from Grams. Hope all of you are doing well.

The house sounds like a fun project. Keep us updated on your progress. Glad things are going better. I'll keep you in my thoughts though while you are transitioning.

Maren, it's nice to see things are going your way, getting back together with your birth father. It will probably feel funny at first, adjusting to being there with him, but I'm sure everything will work out for you.

When you said Newport News the first thing I thought of was Avon fashions. They used to have a catalog, and were out of the Newport News area. Wonder if they are still there, haven't seen a catalog in awhile.

When Isabel hit the coast I thought about you and wondered if you were in Virginia. I'm glad to hear you avoided that and I wish you the best of luck on this new venture. Be happy you're in a warmer clime as Minnesota is not that nice now.
