Looks like I am moving to VA...

In the next week or so, my family and I are moving to VA.

I am going to probably spend some time in Winchester with them, which is near the DC area. Then I will make the move to Newport News where my birth father lives.

Looks more and more like I am moving in with him. He is offering to let me live there free of charge. I am definitely not excited about it, but I have to go where there are opportunities.

I will let all of you know updates as I know them. Still a lot of uncertainty right now.

My papa is working in Winchester right now.... he got a job as an apprentice to a MORTICIAN! He is sewing up bodies and doing the embolming thing... weird huh!!!

that mortician part sounds freaky. Anyway, you picked a great time of year to be in Winchester. It is at the north end of the Shenandoah Valley. There are two routes south into the Valley, high speed I-81, and the Scenic Blue Ridge Pkwy. The leaves are going to turn colors soon, this is great road trip and hiking weather. Also, there are historic battlefields and towns. Staunton, Harrisonburg, etc. The District is an easy daytrip by I-66 East. I belive there is a Patsy Cline Museum in Winchester, that is where the legendary singer was born. Even though its a transition time for you, at least it will be some nice scenery if nothing eles.
I am sure hrdlfe (steph) will fill you in on the Hampton Roads area, she lives there

Just wanted to leave a quick note and let everyone know that we are leaving for Winchester on Saturday afternoon.

Lots of packing and sorting going on lately... its kinda stressfull and emotional at the same time. I just cannot wait to move on so I can start to heal from all these hurts.

Still not sure how long I will be in the Winchester area. But as I said I am not excited about moving in with my birth father either. He is really pushing me hard to move in with him, and doesn't understand that I need time to make decisions that I feel are in my best interest.

Going to look at the job situation around Winchester and all that. Don't have any transportation however, so not sure how I will work all that out. I have gotten rid of nearly everything, all my kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff, etc. The only things I have are my clothes, 2 books, my laptop, scanner and printer and some scrapbooking materials. I always wanted to live a simple life, I guess this is one way to do it. I keep looking at everything I own and thinking HOW DO I HAVE THIS MUCH STUFF! When in reality its not much. I would just like to have one box and one suitcase and call it a day.
