^I think it is true! Most of it anyhow! Now I'm reading another memoir called "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls. So far so good!

| Re: What's everyone reading these days? Miracle in the Andes: 72 Days on the Mountain and My Long Trek Home by Nando Parrado and Vince Rause ... wow ... sad. This is an account of one survivor's efforts to stay alive and help rescue others who suffered a plane crash in the Andes in 1972. The will to live can be very strong. (This account was also told in Alive, which I now want to read ... but the county library system is shut down now due to no money. )

^I hope your library system has opened back up. I can't imagine not having a library. I just finished "Little Earthquakes" by Jennifer Weiner. Great book about life for new moms.

Nope, still no libraries ... however, the county is looking into contracting bare-bones operations with a private company, and maybe opening half-time or less at the end of this year. This has been so maddening.

I am reading "Edgar Cayce: An American Prophet." It is a biography of Edgar Cayce, a man from Hopkinsville, Ky who had exceptional abilities. For example, he could place his head on a closed book for a period of time and memorize the entire thing. This is actually one of his more believable talents. Amazing Man. ~Cally~ Looking to get ahead? You can, with an online business degree. |

I recently finished "Nature Girl" by Carl Hiaasen. A wacky and entertaining read that helped me pass the time on a long plane ride. Now I'm on to "Sick Puppy" by the same author. |

| Re: What's everyone reading these days?
All of the Carl Hiaasen novels I've read are along the same lines ... he picks a topic that's bugging him and expounds on that ... and you can sure tell he doesn't like the way Florida has evolved in his lifetime. Some of our county libraries may reopen in a few months ... but ... contracting with a private library operations company. Reduced cost, reduced services, drastically reduced hours. It'll be interesting to see how this works out. Still, it's just a temporary fix to the problem.

Pennywise...... Have read some of the Left Behind series. One of my adult daughters has read the whole series. It is written with the Biblical opinions of the authors (which is normal... ) and is fast moving and thought provoking.Hope you will enjoy them and glean some insight along the way.

Am about done with Debbie Macomber's 7th book in the Cedar Cove series ... 74 Seaside Avenue. The secret to which number in the series is in the first number of the various addresses...prob everyone knew that except me.... Oh well.Would advise reading the books fairly close tog. as getting to this one long after reading others, I've had a bit of a problem getting all the characters back into my head (it couldn't have anything to do with the number of BDs I've had.....).
