Smile What's everyone reading these days?

We leave for vacation tomorrow so I bought a few books to read on the boat. One is a romance novel by Linda Needham. The title of it just drew me in, "For My Lady's Kiss". Now doesn't that just sound romantic? I've never read anything by her, I hope it's good. I bought another called "Long River Winding", it's about Life, Love, and Death along the Connecticut River, a journey along 410 miles of the river and four centuries of history by author Jim Bissland. The last one is "Day Of Infamy", the story of Pearl Harbor by author Walter Lord. A bit of variety.

Just went to the library today and got the new book that my book club is reading.

"Never Change" by Elizabeth Berg. I am not familiar with the book and have never read anything else by the author.

I'm not familiar with that author either Shaina. Let me know if it's any good.

Well, today I read:

1. Ord & the Shining Star
2. Beauty & the Beast, Friends Are Sweet
3. Honey Rabbit
4. Eeyore Has a Birthday
5. Opposites

But today was a slow reading day for my girls. I think I only read the Opposites one and the Eeyore one twice today.

Yesterday, I read the Wild Animals book (6 times), Ernie & Bert Can...Can you? (3 times), Spongebob's Meet My Friends, The Foot Book, Donald's Magic Stone, & What Is Your Language (2 times). And that was just to my 1 yr old....she is a bookworm. Give her a choice between a book and a toy and she will almost always pick the book. And she has an AMAZING attention span. I swear she'll be reading by the time she's 3.

If you don't count the books I read to the kids (ages 4 and 5), I'm reading the new Jean Auel book "Shelters of Stone", and am waiting for hubby to be done with the new Harry Potter so I can finish re-reading that one, too. I read it, but then we started listening to it as a book on tape when we went to a wedding a week ago, and we only got through chapter 14, so I need to finish it again.

Just finished "Name Dropping" by Jane Heller. It was very good. It's about two women with the same name living in the same apartment ... and the mixups that occur because of it ... everything from new love to murder. It's actually quite humorous and read fast because I really got into the story.

I have read another book by Jane Heller, and it was very good. That prompted me to get all of her other books that my library carries. Her style seems to be light and witty, with a twist of intrigue.

I am on my 4th book in the Dragonlance books by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman (and others). So far these are great books I just don't know what order to read them. Has anyone else read these books? Does it matter the order I read them as long as I finish each set I start?

Kelly

I also read that book "Name Dropping". Its quite the book! My grandmother recommended that one to me.

Anywho.... still reading the books with the middle and high schoolers. Cannot wait until The Whipping Boy is over, I am so bored with that book!!!

Elizabeth Berg wrote "Range of Motion" which was made into a movie on Lifetime. It starred Rebecca DeMornay, whose husband had an accident and was in a coma. It was a great movie.

Princess Charming by Jane Heller.

Wish I could write like this woman ... very sharp and witty. Anyone who has been on a cruise would probably enjoy it.
