This fast-to-read book has no narrative as you're used to reading a novel. It is made up entirely of e-mails to and from everyone in the story. I've never read a book like this before. Wish I had thought of this format! IMO, it is ingenious and very witty, and I was sad when I was done with the book because there was no more to read! This is one talented writer!

The Boy Next Door ...

It is a neat concept. I almost felt naughty, like I shouldn't be reading other people's e-mails, but it was so much fun. I love, love to read good novels ... but this one was just too much fun. So witty, it had me laughing out loud at times ... and that's not easy to do with a book.

The book I currently cannot put down is (don't laugh at me!) Fun and Educational Places to go with Kids and Adults in Southern California. ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]) This book is great! The author has gone to these places and evaluated them from what they saw and did, what the place had to offer, hours, menu items (if applicable), how much of the day it would take, to how much $$ and if it would be a good place for a birthday.

There were so many places in this book that I had no clue existed. Some of these places friends who had lived here their entire life didn't even know about. I found this in the travel section at our local Borders bookstore. If you can find a similar book for your area I highly recommend it!

In a stunning follow-up to her number one bestseller Slander, leading conservative pundit Ann Coulter contends that liberals have been wrong on every foreign policy issue, from the fight against Communism at home and abroad, the Nixon and the Clinton presidencies, and the struggle with the Soviet empire right up to today’s war on terrorism. Far from being irrelevant today, her clearheaded and piercing view of what we’ve been through informs us perfectly for challenges today and in the future. This is a MUST read for anyone interested in pulling back the curtain on the brainwashing of America. Get it on sale at Amazon.com now.

I just finished a trilogy written by John Christopher that I first read when I was in middle school. Its the TRIPOD series and consists of:

1. When the Tripods came
2. The White Mountains
3. The City of Gold and Lead
4. The Pool of Fire

Very good books... even if they are for a younger age group. About aliens coming to earth and taking over, but a small resistance group decides to battle against them. GREAT BOOKS!

I just started another science fiction series. This time written by C.S. Lewis. Its his space trilogy. I am reading the first book, "Out of the Silent Planet."

Had to laugh, we're going to the White Mountains (not sure if it's the SAME White Mountains) in less than three weeks

Now I am almost finished with "The Secret Life of Bees." This is an excellent book....I am really enjoying it!

Both "The Boy Next Door" and "Angry Housewifes Eating Bonbons" sound good to me!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Just picked up a copy at Costco today (only $15.69). I plan to start reading it with my kids tonight.

ShainaT - Tell me more about why you like The Secret Life of Bees so much. I've seen it's on the best-seller list. Thanks.

Jani~ It is just one of those books that grabs you! I thought the story was good and it is a quick read. Excellent writing. The story is about a 14 year old girl Lily whose mother died 10 years earlier and Lily is living with her cruel father. This takes place in 1964. The woman watching her gets into some racist trouble so she and Lily take off on the run. Lily tries to find out more about her mom. I actually finished the book this afternoon.

"Fully imagined...The core of this story is Lily's search for a mother and she finds one in a place she never expected." -The NY Times Book Review

"It's as if author Kidd loaded up a take-home plate with treats, and you said, "Oh, I couldn't", and then scarfed it down in the car on the way home," -Entertainment Weekly

"Maybe it's true that there are no perfect books, but I closed this one believing that I had found perfection." -Book Magazine

I bought "The Secret Life of Bees" when it first came out at the beginning of last year, because I had read a lot of Sue Monk Kidd's work in Guideposts. I knew she was a great author!

That's Stephen King...lol I was thinking about getting that from the library.
You'll have to let me know how the book is. I know it has to be better then the movie. They always are.
But the movie wasn't that great.
