What a small world! That is the next book my book club is doing and I just reserved it at the library! I like Anita Shreve and hope this book is as good as the others that I've read.

For those of you who love mystery/suspense books, I highly recommend:

Tell No One: a novel ........ by Harlan Coben

It was an easy read, and it kept me guessing the outcome 'til the very end. When I returned it to the library, I had to recommend it to the workers there - something I never do.

luvmetender, so far I like "Sea Glass" by Anita Shreve ... I'm a little over halfway through. At first, it seemed to skip around to too many people, but it has all come together. This is the first book I've read by her.

Oh, and if anyone is in to true crime stories, Ann Rule rules! I am in awe of her storytelling abilities, especially since they're so complicated. Everything she writes flows, and keeps you glued to the book until the very end.

I also like Robert B. Parker's Spencer series of books. There are tons of them with this wise-cracking private eye as the main character ... some language, but if you can overlook that, he'll keep you chuckling all through each book ... and they read really fast.

Just finished "Utopia" by Lincoln Child. Not to be confused with the classic of the same name. It was pretty good...a suspense/thriller set in a futuristic theme park.

Now I am starting Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. I really enjoyed his novel Silence of the Lambs and am eager to read this. I have not rented the movie...I am waiting until I read the novel.

I am currently reading "Cold Mountain" by Charles Frazier. I started the book months ago but have not had spare time to read. Between preparing for summer day camp at the school, my devotional time and SLEEP, I have no time! Hoping to spend some time with the book this weekend.

Cold Mountain is good... but I am spending too much time with it. I need to really get on a roll with reading. I only read about a chapter a week or two!

Mom gave me one by John Grisham but I cannot remember the title. That one may be next.

I enjoyed "Sea Glass". Latest book I finished was "Angry Housewives Eating Bon-Bons", by Lorna Landvik. It's a fictional story about women in a book club and was also enjoyable. Currently reading "The Leopard Hat".

I just finished "Sea Glass", and I also enjoyed it. It is written in chapters according to each character's view of events going on.

"Angry Housewifes eating Bon-Bons" ... now that sounds interesting!

I'm getting "White Oleander" from the library. I just saw the movie, and now will read the book, which I'm sure will be much better than the movie.

I love Anita Shreve, but I haven't read this one yet. "The Poisonwood Bible" was written like that, too.

I don't like anything too heavy, so I'm into what they call "cozy mysteries." They're mysteries that are fun and light. Right now, I'm reading Tamar Myers "Between a Wok and a Hard Place." (This is a "Pennsylvania Dutch mystery with recipes!") She's a new author I just discovered, and I love her! She has a whole series of these books, and I am crazy about her heroine, who is this acid-tongued old maid who lives in Amish country. The heroine is Mennonite, herself, so you get to learn a lot about both cultures, and you get recipes. And she's such a CRAB! LOTS of fun!

OMG. If e-mails are a big part of your life these days, you've GOT to read this book: The Boy Next Door by Meggin Cabot

This fast-to-read book has no narrative as you're used to reading a novel. It is made up entirely of e-mails to and from everyone in the story. I've never read a book like this before. Wish I had thought of this format! IMO, it is ingenious and very witty, and I was sad when I was done with the book because there was no more to read! This is one talented writer!
