Re: What's everyone reading these days?

I just finished Durable Goods by Berg yesterday... very good. I didn't realize I should have read that one BEFORE Joy School though. Oh well... it was still good.

Catching up on 2 of the Left Behind series that I haven't read yet. Not my all time favorite books but I like a series and its good so I will continue.

Re: What's everyone reading these days?

In the last week or so:

Envy by Sandra Brown
The Sinner by Tess Gerritsen
Bare Bones by Kathy Reichs
Fatal Tide by Iris Johansen

One of Leonard Goldberg's...think it was Deadly Medicine, but the titles all begin with "Deadly," so it's hard to remember. lol

Just started Sense of Evil by Kay Hooper.

Have waiting:

The Jester by James Patterson
The Face by Dean Koontz
The Lake House by James Patterson
Forever... by Jude Deveraux

Have more on hold (or reserved to be put on hold) at the library.

Mr. Murder by Dean Koontz. It was boring in the beginning but seems to be picking up the pace.

I love all of his books, but they always make me cry.

I just finished "The Sunday Wife" by Cassandra King. It was alright. The middle was slow.

I just started "Native Tongue" by Carl Hiaasen. It seems really good so far. I had to have something going for my ride to our Thanksgiving gathering.

Re: What's everyone reading these days?

Well, I want you to know I specifically came to this thread looking for suggestions, as I knew DD's and I were going to the library.
Because of all the rave reviews on Elizabeth Berg, I checked out Joy School and Durable Goods.
I started Joy School last night, I'm about 45 pages in, and am enjoying it very much!
Thanks for the recomendations!

Re: What's everyone reading these days?

Brenda... you may want to start with Durable goods first.. then Joy School, then True to Form. I think that is the order of the girls life

Re: What's everyone reading these days?

"The Four Temperaments" by Yona Zeldis McDonough ... a good novel ... "The spellbinding story of a father and son, both married, who fall in love with the same alluring ballerina."

It's a terrible addiction, this reading thing.

"Unfit to Practice" by Perri O'Shaughnessy ... "It's the moment every attorney fears most ... one careless moment that threatens careers, reputations, lives ..." This is a terrific book, written by two sisters, one a lawyer, and one an editor/writer, under this pen name.

It's called bibliomania. I suffer from it, too.

Re: What's everyone reading these days?

"Scarlet Feather" by Maeve Binchy ... 538 pages! ... there's no way you can't feel like part of the family by the time you finish reading a Maeve Binchy book. Everything I have read by her is excellent.

"You are not a Stranger Here" by Adam Haslett. This strange collection of short stories was just not my cup of tea.
