I went back home to Ohio for July 4th...my mom is coming to town Wednesday and we are going to St. Louis for an IRL race over the weekend.

Been here all summer! No vacation plans.....

Uh, I think everyone can tell by my sig line I'm getting excited about leaving for Mexico this weekend.
Hope I have not driven you all nuts. I promise to change the sig line when I get back.

We'll be going to Nova Scotia Canada for 5 days. My FIL lives there so we'll be staying with him. Our journey begins on the Scotia Prince ship out of Portland Maine, it's about an 11 hour boat ride to Yarmouth Nova Scotia, Canada. The ship is like a mini cruise ship, it has gambling on board, a free stage show with dancers, karaoke of course, not to forget the nice gift shop etc. We have been going ever since I can remember so the place feels like a second home to me. The coastline is rocky and it doesn't get any prettier than that. You can actually afford to buy a house up there, although I have seen prices rise within the last few years. Alot of U.S. citizens are moving there.

You forgot to list an option for "Yes, we went away, and it was OK, but I'd have been just as happy to stay home." We took the kids back to Michigan (from the Boston area) to stay with my parents for a week, and while it was kinda fun, it was also a lot of work to travel with three 4-year-olds, and staying home would have been cheaper and easier.

We went on a nice vacation up the California coast and then inland to Yosemite and Mammoth. A lot of driving, but our kids did great and had fun! We were back for a week and then dh and I went to Toronto for 5 days. It was a great get-away, but we missed the kids! Niagra Falls was amazing!

The last time I went on any vacation was over ten years ago. Circumstances have made it impossible, but some day I still would like to get away for a week or so.
