There is a lot of information on the website, including who can still call you (politicians, charities, and surveys). After you register, any telemarketer that calls you can be fined $11,000! It's regulated by the FTC.

I just read a headline that said after being open only 14 hours, they had 635,000 names on the list! Bye bye telemarketers!!!

On this afternoons news, they said 100 people per second were signing up.... I cant get in either....

I got in, and was able to get as far as entering my phone number. After that no new page loaded so it sort of froze on me.

I was able to sign up by phone:

"Residents living in states west of the Mississippi River, including Louisiana and Minnesota, will be able to sign up by phone starting Friday. Those living east of the Mississippi will not be able to sign up by phone until July 7, though they will be able to sign up through the Web site on Friday.

When I read about this free service in the paper a couple days ago, I couldn't wait to sign up! Obviously,lots of people are sick of those annoying calls.I really hope this works and we stop getting bothered by these people!

I did it about an hour ago, but still haven't received an email. I guess the web site is just being swamped right now. Hopefully I'll get it within a day or so. Has anyone got the email yet? How long did it take?

I got through tonight but no e-mail yet. The news gave the numbers and said it would be slow or not at all, but eventually everyone will be able to sign on.

I signed up at 11pm and by 12:30 I had the emails (I registered 3 numbers)
