What I don't get is why some (names not mentioned) people in this thread insist on forcing their opinion or views on others. Why can't we just be adult about is and "agree to disagree" and drop it?

I just don't understand how people can make themselves so miserable by insisting that their point of view is the absolute truth.

Politicians lie......that is a fact. They also make promises that they think they can follow through on & then are not able to deliver. Have you ever made a promise & then had to go back on your word? If you have, then consider yourself a liar too!!!

The way I see it is that these people are doing a job that I could never handle. I give them all credit. It may not be done the way I like it otr the way I would do it, but I let my husband wash the floor and he doesn't always do it to my satisfaction but at least he's TRYING TO DO A GOOD JOB!!

Jesk,

If you have been reading the newspapers lately, you know information that contradicted the administration's stance was ignored- not investigated and discredited, valuable information was ignored. Also, many intelligence officials have claimed to the Washington Post and other newspapers they were bullied by the highest levels of our government into releasing only information that nicely fit with the "agenda."

ATo find our President was handed credible information rebutting his public claims just hours before the first invasion wave really bothers me.

Did he lie? I can't say for sure.

I can say for sure he mislead us by not acknowledging or addressing credible information contradicting his hypothesis.

Thumbs down

I admit to wondering if Bush took the information that supported his desires and used it to promote his objectives. But all the talk of deeper, evil motives is ridiculous to me. Sorry. Just one poor old lady's opinion...

THINKING that he lied to us does not mean he lied to us, does it? Just because you may believe he did does not mean that he really lied. What makes you so sure he lied, cujo? It's funny that these people who are throwing out these allegations that Bush lied are the same ones who wouldn't believe their exalted hero Slick Willie lied to them, even after the "Blue Dress checkmate". Why are they so willing to believe one President lied when there IS NO PROOF that he lied, yet were so unwilling to believe their hero lied to them after getting caught with his pants down? Obviously, different standards are being used, depending on which side of the political fence the President sits. Don't go condemning Bush for his "lack of Christian values" unless you are SURE he lied. I assume by your avatar that you are a Christian and I'm sure you wouldn't want someone condemning YOUR ACTIONS simply because they incorrectly THOUGHT you were lying!

The article that Jwelch posted is (like most of her sources) a bunch of crap. It's a series of accusations where the truth is twisted to suit the author's desired outcome. It's easy to accuse (as Jwelch well knows), but takes much more effort to debunk the accusation. THINK about each accusation before you buy into it. Think about the author's motivations.

Hi, Jesk,

Ten days before the war began, The CIA told the White House "Curveball's" allegations of Iraqi mobile chemical plants were flat our lies. We went to war anyway. With the current NIE on Iran, we now know the President has been foot loose and fancy free on telling the American people the whole truth.
