My "Deal Of The Day"

Today I was on the prowl for a futon. I went to a place called Furniture Factory Outlet determined I wasn't leaving without one. The salesman took me over to the futons and I found a wooden one that came with a 10 inch matress. I was hoping to maybe get an 8 inch matress because I have been pricing the bigger ones online and they are kinda pricey! The wooden futon with the 10 inch matress was $289. I thought that's pretty good compared to what I have seen. I went to another store earlier in the week and the frames alone were that much.

Well, I decided it was time to turn on the puppy dog eyes and I said "are you sure you can't sell that to me cheaper?" He said just one second...came back and said ok, I will sell it to you for $239. I said hot dog, you have a deal! My DH cracks up everytime I am on a mission to purchase something. I always weasel a deal! One of the many wonderful traits I got from my mom! Thanks Mom!

What a true DOD'er! That sounds great...I love my futon-it is so comfy, I prefer it to our pillowtop mattress(I know I'm strange). We got a beautiful (brand new) cover and two covered pillows for it on ebay for about $40 from the seller cool-covers. They wanted $100 for the plain-jane covers where we bought ours.

That is a good buy Jennifer. I know what you mean, I do the puppy dog eyes too. A woman can always get what she wants that way. Men just don't see it coming. My hubby thinks it's cute. He gets a bit embarassed though if I go some place with him and try to get a lower price. Like I tell him, it doesn't hurt to ask for a lower price, 'cause you just never know what they'll say, and you might get a better bargain. He knows I'm the great bargain hunter.

Thanks I always love a great deal! The matress I picked out is navy with tan/burgandy/hunter green vertical and horizontal stripes. It's pretty just like that but I probably will get a cover for it. Solid burgandy or hunter green pillows would probably look pretty cool on it too.
